Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio IT3000 / IT2000 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DT-9023)
This 7.4V 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Casio IT3000 and IT2000 series handheld barcode scanners. It fits models including the IT-2000D30E and IT-2000D33E and uses the same OEM part references: DT-9023, DT-9723, DT-9023LI, DT-9723LI, and DT-9723LIC. It slots directly into the same battery bay and connects to the same BMS handshake these scanners expect.
- IT3000 and IT2000 series fit: Both lines share a common battery form factor and voltage rail at 7.4V. The BMS communication protocol is identical across these models, so the pack registers correctly without triggering a compatibility fault on the device controller.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through repeated scan-trigger cycles on the IT3000 platform and monitored BMS response under combined laser and wireless radio draw. The BMS held voltage within spec and did not cut off during back-to-back scan bursts.
- First-shift charge discipline: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before using it on a pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a pre-charged pack prevents a false BMS trip on the first burst of the shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Casio IT-series cradles read pack state through the dock contacts before initiating the charge cycle. If those contacts are oxidised or have residue from a worn-out old pack, the cradle throws a charge error even when the new cell is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle slot with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. The error clears once contact resistance drops below the cradle's threshold and the BMS handshake completes.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During fast scanning runs, the IT3000 draws current simultaneously from the laser or imager and the wireless radio module. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio subsystem drops its connection before the BMS fully trips. This is most common when the battery is below 30% charge. Keep the pack above that threshold during heavy shift work — check the device charge indicator and return to the cradle before the battery indicator hits the first warning bar.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IT3000 won't read barcodes right after I put the new battery in — is the scanner broken?
The scanner's laser or imager draws more current at startup than during a steady scan, and if the new pack hasn't been charged yet, the cell voltage is too low to sustain that draw. The scanner powers on but the imager can't reach operating threshold, so it fails to read. Place the scanner in its cradle, run a full charge cycle, then test. The scan function should restore once the cell sits above 7.0V under load.
The IT3000 gets noticeably warm after a long warehouse shift — is that a battery fault?
Heat is normal when the scanner runs sustained scan bursts combined with continuous wireless polling in an enclosed housing. What matters is whether the device shuts itself down mid-shift — that would indicate the BMS is tripping on thermal overload, not just passive warmth. If it stays on but runs warm, rotate the scanner to the cradle for a short rest between pick runs to let the housing dissipate heat. If the device shuts down unprompted, check that the battery bay cover is fully seated — a loose cover reduces airflow and traps heat against the cell.
The new battery doesn't last as long through a shift as the old one did — what's happening?
A new Li-ion cell often needs two or three full charge and discharge cycles before it reaches rated capacity. The IT3000's scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both affect how quickly the pack drains, so a shift with high scan volume will always draw more than a light-duty one. Run the pack through two complete cradle charge cycles before drawing conclusions about endurance. If shift endurance is still noticeably short after three cycles, check the device's wireless polling interval in settings — reducing unnecessary radio traffic is the fastest way to extend charge between cradle visits.
