Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cecotec CONGA 3290 / 3390 / 3490 / 3590 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (49CE1533)
This 14.4V 3200mAh lithium-ion battery replaces part number 49CE1533 in the Cecotec CONGA 3290 and compatible CONGA 3390, 3490, and 3590 robot vacuums. The CONGA series runs autonomous floor cleaning cycles across hard floors and carpet, drawing sustained current from start to finish. Capacity is 46.08Wh, matched to the original cell specification.
- CONGA 3290–3590 platform fit: These four models share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — the robot's firmware reads cell state through the same handshake across the range, so one cell covers all four.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a CONGA unit and confirmed the BMS negotiated correctly — no error codes, no false low-battery cutoffs under normal suction load.
- Dock charging behaviour on CONGA units: Do not leave the CONGA on the charging dock between every clean. Robot vacuums on continuous dock charge receive a trickle charge that accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge to full, then remove from dock until the next scheduled run.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the cell can sustain at its present state of charge — voltage sags under load before the indicator registers a low reading. A partially blocked filter makes it worse: restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling current spikes that trigger early voltage sag. The BMS reads the sag as near-depletion and begins throttling motor power. Clean the filter first, then check that cell voltage at rest sits above 14.0V before starting a cycle.
Motor cutting out mid-cycle and restarting on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip — not a dead battery. When suction is restricted by a blocked filter or tangled brush roll, the motor draws a sustained current spike above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS disconnects the cell to protect it, then resets after a few seconds. The cycle repeats if the restriction remains. Clear the brush roll and filter, then restart the unit — if the cutout stops, the cell is fine and the obstruction was the cause.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CONGA starts a cleaning cycle but suction feels weak from the first minute — battery is showing full charge. What's wrong?
A fully charged cell can still sag under motor load if the filter is partially blocked — restricted airflow forces the motor to draw above its rated current, pulling the cell voltage down even from a full charge state. Check the filter first; on the CONGA 3290 series it should be cleaned after every two to three cycles. If suction normalises after cleaning the filter, the battery is not the issue. If sag persists with a clean filter, measure resting cell voltage — it should read at or above 14.4V off the dock.
The CONGA keeps returning to the dock and restarting mid-clean, over and over. Is the battery failing?
This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip caused by a blockage, not a failing cell. When the brush roll is tangled or the filter is clogged, the motor pulls a sustained current spike that exceeds the BMS threshold — the BMS disconnects the cell, the robot interprets this as needing a charge, and docks itself. Clear the brush roll and filter completely, then send the unit on a new cycle. If the mid-cycle docking stops, the cell is functioning correctly.
My CONGA's battery faded noticeably within a few months of fitting a new cell — it charged fine but now runs noticeably shorter. Did I get a bad battery?
Capacity fade this fast is nearly always caused by continuous dock charging. Li-ion cells in robot vacuums degrade faster when left on a trickle charge between every run — the CONGA dock does not disconnect once the cell is full. Remove the unit from the dock after the charge light confirms full, and only redock when you are ready to charge again. This single change significantly slows capacity fade on replacement cells.
