Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Chuango WS-108 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (UPS-A890)
This 7.4V 600mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the factory battery in the Chuango WS-108 wireless door and window sensor. The WS-108 is a contact sensor used in Chuango intruder alarm systems to detect entry point breaches. At 43.10 x 25.60 x 12.10mm, it fits the original battery cavity without modification.
- WS-108 contact sensor fit: The WS-108 runs its RF transmitter and reed switch circuit from a single 7.4V Li-Polymer cell. The form factor is specific — a wrong-voltage or oversized cell will either fail to communicate with the panel or won't seat in the housing.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the WS-108's BMS handshake and confirmed the panel registered a valid battery state within the expected window. The protection circuit responded correctly to both charge cutoff and low-voltage disconnect thresholds.
- Post-installation zone check timing: Do not run a zone diagnostic immediately after swapping this cell. The WS-108 needs 24–48 hours on float charge before the panel will report an accurate battery state. Triggering a test before that window closes can produce a false low-battery fault on the panel display.
Alarm panel showing low battery hours after installing a new WS-108 cell
This is a BMS reporting delay, not a faulty cell. The Chuango panel polls each zone sensor for battery state shortly after the system arms or a zone triggers, and a freshly installed Li-Polymer cell hasn't yet reached the float voltage threshold the panel expects. The panel interprets the slightly depressed resting voltage as low. Leave the system powered and armed for 24–48 hours — the fault will clear once the cell stabilises at full float, typically around 8.4V.
WS-108 sensor stops transmitting after a door opens
If the sensor trips but the panel receives no alert, the most common cause is a marginal cell voltage — the reed switch actuates but the RF transmitter doesn't have enough current to complete the burst. Check the cell voltage under load; anything below 6.8V means the protection circuit is near its cutoff floor. A cell that reads 7.2V at rest but sags below 6.8V on transmission needs replacing. Fit the new UPS-A890 cell, reseat the housing cover fully, and confirm the tamper circuit is closed before testing.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Chuango panel cleared the low battery warning when I pressed reset, but it came back the next morning — is the new cell already failing?
No — this is a float charge timing issue, not a cell fault. The panel re-polls battery state each time the system arms or a zone triggers, and a cell installed within the last 24 hours hasn't yet stabilised at full float voltage. The warning returns because the cell's resting voltage is still slightly below the panel's reporting threshold. Leave the system live for 48 hours without resetting the fault — it will clear on its own once the cell reaches approximately 8.4V.
The WS-108 sensor triggered the entry chime but the siren didn't sound during a test — could the new battery be the cause?
Yes, this can happen on a freshly installed cell. The siren output on Chuango panels has a charge-stabilisation delay of roughly 30–60 seconds on a new backup cell, and if you ran the test immediately after fitting the battery, the panel may have suppressed the siren drive. Wait at least one hour after installation before running a siren test. If the siren still doesn't fire after that window, check that the sensor cover is fully closed — an open tamper contact on the WS-108 housing will prevent the panel from treating the zone as active.
The WS-108 housing cover won't close flush after I fitted the new cell — now the panel shows a tamper fault. What's wrong?
The UPS-A890 cell dimensions are 43.10 x 25.60 x 12.10mm — if the cover won't seat, the cell is likely sitting at an angle in the cavity rather than lying flat. Remove the cell, clear any residue or debris from the contact points, and reseat it so it lies completely flat before pressing the cover closed. The tamper switch on the WS-108 is a spring contact on the lid itself — even 1–2mm of gap will hold the fault open. Once the cover clicks shut, the panel should clear the tamper fault within one polling cycle.
