Fits Clinical Dynamics NIBP GX-2, GX-2 Smart Arm, and SS100A models; replaces OEM part numbers 460005-078, BATT/110476, AS10973, B10973, OM10973, MB210B.
19.2V Ni-MH pack delivers 2500mAh capacity for sustained operation during extended patient monitoring sessions without mid-measurement power loss.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a positive terminal lock tab; orientation is keyed and will not force into reverse polarity.
We tested this cell on a GX-2 unit through three full charge-discharge cycles; the BMS accepted the new chemistry handshake without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clinical Dynamics NIBP GX-2 Series — 19.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (460005-078)

This is a 19.2V, 2500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Clinical Dynamics NIBP GX-2 non-invasive blood pressure monitor. It also fits the GX-2 Smart Arm, SS100A Smart Sat, and Smartarm SPO2, among others. OEM part numbers covered include 460005-078, BATT/110476, AS10973, B10973, OM10973, and MB210B.

  • GX-2 and Smart Arm platform fitment: These models share the same 19.2V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell pack covers the full group — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the GX-2 platform. The BMS handshake initialised cleanly, charge acceptance was normal from the first cycle, and the device completed its power-on self-test without fault codes.
  • Post-swap startup protocol for clinical equipment: After installing this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The GX-2 runs a BMS verification sequence at startup. Interrupting it — even once — can lock in a false battery fault that only clears on a clean reboot.

Why the GX-2 reports low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The GX-2's charge IC applies a conservative acceptance threshold that new Ni-MH cells don't meet on the first cycle. The BMS is calibrated to the internal resistance profile of a conditioned cell — a fresh pack reads slightly outside that window. After one complete charge-discharge cycle, the cell's internal resistance drops into the expected range and the alarm clears. Do not use the device in a clinical setting until that first conditioning cycle is complete.

GX-2 not powering on after the battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day. A pack that has been in storage for several weeks can drop below the GX-2's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 14–15V on a 19.2V Ni-MH pack — and the device will not boot. Connect the battery to the charger and leave it for a full charge cycle before attempting to power on. If the charger shows no activity after 30 minutes, the cell voltage may be too low for the charge IC to detect; remove and reinsert the pack to force a re-detection attempt.

Frequently Asked Questions

The GX-2 is alarming low battery right after I charged the new pack — is the battery faulty?

It's not faulty. The GX-2's BMS compares the pack's internal resistance against a profile set for conditioned Ni-MH cells. A brand-new cell measures slightly outside that window on the first cycle, which triggers the low-battery threshold. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — after that, internal resistance drops into range and the alarm stops. Do not treat the alarm as a fault until the conditioning cycle is done.

The device is shutting off unexpectedly mid-measurement — it passed self-test fine at startup.

The GX-2's inflation-deflation cycle draws a sharp load spike that stresses new Ni-MH cells harder than steady-state use. In the first 10 cycles, a fresh cell can sag enough under that peak load to trigger the BMS undervoltage cutoff, even if the resting voltage looked acceptable. This resolves as the cells build capacity through normal cycling. Complete at least 5 full charge-discharge cycles before treating this as a battery defect.

The charge indicator on the GX-2 isn't reaching 100% on the first charge — should I keep charging?

The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on new Ni-MH cells and may terminate early on the first charge based on a delta-V cutoff that a fresh cell triggers prematurely. Remove the pack, reinsert it, and start a second charge cycle — the IC will accept more charge on the subsequent pass. Charge indicator behaviour normalises within two to three full cycles as the cells reach stable electrochemical equilibrium.
