Fits Conair CTP9400 and CTP9410 cordless phone handsets, replacing OEM battery pack.
3.6V and 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers standard talk time and standby hold on DECT base platforms.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with single locking tab on right side facing up.
We bench tested the cell on a CTP9400 base — BMS accepted voltage immediately, no charge errors on first insertion.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Conair CTP9400 / CTP9410 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Conair CTP9400 and CTP9410 cordless DECT handsets. It replaces the original pack when the handset no longer holds a charge through a full conversation. Dimensions are 45.60 × 31.30 × 10.60mm — verify against your existing cell before installing.

  • CTP9400 and CTP9410 compatibility: Both handsets run on the same 3.6V NiMH cell with identical connector orientation and footprint. One battery covers both models without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset platform. The cell accepted a full charge from the base station cradle and voltage held within spec across transmission bursts.
  • First charge after installation: Seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells ship partially discharged, and a slow initial charge is what brings the pack to rated 700mAh capacity — skipping it leaves you with noticeably shorter talk windows for the first several uses.

Base station charge light not coming on after installing a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse long enough, its resting voltage can drop below the threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. Many Conair bases won't initiate the charge cycle if they don't sense a voltage above roughly 3.0V on the contacts. The fix is a brief external top-up — a compatible NiMH charger at 50–100mA for 20 to 30 minutes is enough to bring the pack above the acceptance floor. After that, drop it back in the base and the charge indicator should activate normally.

Handset loses range or call quality drops near the edge of the house after swap

DECT handsets draw a spike of current every time the RF module transmits a burst. A NiMH pack that hasn't completed its conditioning cycles can't deliver that current without its voltage sagging below the handset's RF power threshold. When voltage sags, the transmit power drops, and range shrinks noticeably. Run three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles through the base station — by cycle four, the cell's internal resistance settles and voltage holds steady through the transmit spike. Range should return to the original handset spec after conditioning is complete.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Conair CTP9400 talk time is still short after putting in a new battery — is the battery defective?

It is not defective. NiMH cells need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated 700mAh capacity — this is normal chemistry behaviour, not a fault. Each cycle through the base station builds electrochemical capacity in the cell. Run the handset down until it beeps for low battery, then return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat that three to five times.

The CTP9410 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing a dead battery cuts all power to the handset's memory, and some DECT phones drop their base registration when power is fully removed. The handset needs to be re-registered to the base. On most Conair DECT systems, press and hold the FIND or PAGE button on the base for five seconds while the handset is powered on — the handset will scan for and re-register to the base unit.

The handset is draining completely overnight even though it's sitting in the base — what's happening?

Check that the handset is fully seated in the charging cradle. Conair DECT bases use spring-loaded contacts, and even a small tilt or gap breaks the circuit — the handset then runs on battery in standby all night. Press the handset firmly into the base until you feel it click into position, then confirm the charge indicator light is active. If the light does not appear, clean the contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth and reseat the handset.
