Fits CQR Multibox sirens, replaces OEM part number BAT6V-0.33A.
6V, 330mAh Ni-MH cell delivers backup power to siren during primary power loss.
Connector orientation and physical slot match original; no adapter needed on Multibox housing.
We bench-tested this cell on a Multibox control loop — BMS accepted charge within two cycles, no fault codes.
Do not run a zone test for 24–48 hours after installation; the panel requires full float charge before diagnostics register capacity correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

CQR Multibox Sirens — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BAT6V-0.33A)

This is a 6V 330mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for CQR Multibox sirens. It slots into the siren housing as a backup power cell, keeping the siren active during mains power failure. Voltage and capacity match the OEM spec exactly — 6V, 330mAh (1.98Wh).

  • Multibox siren compatibility: CQR Multibox sirens use a dedicated backup cell on a float-charge circuit. The panel trickle-charges this cell continuously so the siren stays live during a power cut. This battery sits on that same circuit and accepts the float voltage without issue.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a float-charge test rig at 6V and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without false low-battery flags. Charge acceptance was consistent across the full conditioning period.
  • Float charge conditioning after installation: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. Testing before the cell is fully conditioned will cause the panel to report a low battery fault even though the battery itself is fine.

Why your alarm panel still shows low battery after fitting a new cell

CQR Multibox panels read battery state through a voltage threshold on the float-charge circuit. A brand-new Ni-MH cell sits below that threshold until it completes an initial charge cycle. The panel interprets this as a depleted battery and holds the low battery warning. Leave the panel powered and on mains for 24–48 hours — the warning clears once the cell voltage climbs above the panel's acceptance threshold, typically around 7.2V across the cell pair at rest.

Siren silent on test after backup battery swap

Some Multibox siren units apply a short inhibit window after a battery swap to allow charge stabilisation before arming the backup circuit. If you trigger a test within 30–60 seconds of installing the cell, the siren may not respond. This is a circuit-level hold, not a wiring fault. Wait at least 60 seconds after installing and closing the cover, then re-test — the siren should fire normally on the next trigger.

Frequently Asked Questions

My alarm panel is still showing a low battery fault 2 hours after I put in a new BAT6V-0.33A — did I get a dead battery?

Almost certainly not. CQR Multibox panels use a voltage threshold on the float-charge circuit to determine battery state, and a fresh Ni-MH cell starts below that threshold. The panel needs 24–48 hours of continuous mains power to float-charge the new cell up to the acceptance level. Leave it powered and check again after 48 hours — the fault should clear once the cell voltage stabilises above the panel's cutoff point.

My alarm lost its programming during a power cut even though I just fitted a new backup battery — what went wrong?

A newly installed cell that hasn't completed its conditioning cycle won't hold enough charge to sustain the panel through a mains failure. The panel's memory requires a stable voltage for the full duration of the outage — a partially charged cell drops below that threshold quickly. Fit the battery and allow a full 48-hour float-charge period before relying on it for backup power. Only after that conditioning window is the cell capable of holding the panel's programming through a cut.

The CQR Multibox siren cover was difficult to close after the battery swap — could that cause a fault?

Yes. Multibox sirens have a tamper switch on the housing that triggers a fault if the lid isn't fully seated. If you're seeing a tamper alert on the panel after a battery replacement, open the cover, reseat the battery so it sits flat, and press the cover firmly until it clicks. Check the panel — a correctly closed cover should clear the tamper fault immediately without any reset procedure.
