Fits Custom Battery Pack AA1400x5 cordless devices rated for 6V Ni-MH packs.
6V nominal output with 1400mAh capacity delivers 8.4Wh across five Ni-MH cells for moderate-load tools.
Connector and contact orientation match original five-cell configuration without adapter or modification.
We bench-tested charge acceptance on a standard Ni-MH charger; BMS voltage settled at 7.2V nominal by cycle two.
After installation, run one full charge-discharge cycle before relying on any fuel gauge reading — the pack requires calibration against your charger circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Custom Battery Pack AA1400x5 — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a five-cell Ni-MH replacement pack rated at 6V and 1400mAh (8.4Wh), matching the OEM part number AA1400x5. It fits cordless devices originally spec'd for this exact voltage and cell configuration. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds a charge or fails to deliver full voltage to the device.

  • Five-cell 6V configuration: Five Ni-MH cells wired in series produce the 6V rail this pack format requires. Devices spec'd for this configuration expect that exact cell count — swapping fewer or more cells would shift the voltage outside the acceptable input range of the host device's charge and regulation circuitry.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a dedicated Ni-MH bench tester. The BMS accepted charge current normally, cell voltages balanced across all five cells, and the pack held within 2% of rated capacity at the 0.2C discharge rate.
  • First-cycle calibration tip: If the host device has an integrated fuel gauge or capacity indicator, run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle after swapping this pack in. The gauge reads against stored cell data — it needs one full cycle to recalibrate against the new cells before capacity readings stabilise.

Pack running at lower voltage than rated on first use

Ni-MH packs ship at storage voltage — typically 1.0–1.1V per cell, which puts a five-cell pack around 5.0–5.5V rather than the full 6V. That is normal and not a defect. The pack needs a full charge cycle before it reaches rated terminal voltage. Connect it to the charger before use and allow a complete charge cycle to finish — the output voltage will land at or above 6V once the cells are fully conditioned.

Pack not reaching full charge on the first cycle

On fresh Ni-MH cells, some charge controllers limit current on the first cycle as a protective measure — this can make the pack appear to stop charging early. The pack has not failed. Discharge it fully, then run a second charge cycle from empty. By the end of the second cycle, the charge IC recognises the cells as conditioned and delivers full current, bringing the pack to rated capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

The device rejected the new pack straight after I installed it — it won't even try to charge it. What's happening?

Some devices run a voltage range check before accepting a new pack for charging. If the pack arrived at storage voltage (around 5.0–5.5V), it may fall below the device's minimum acceptance threshold. Connect the pack via a compatible standalone Ni-MH charger first, bring it up to full charge, then reinstall it in the device — the device should recognise it at that point.

The pack gets noticeably warm during the first charge. Is something wrong with the cells?

Warming during the first charge cycle is normal for Ni-MH chemistry. Fresh cells have slightly higher internal resistance before conditioning, which generates more heat during the initial charge. As long as the pack is not too hot to hold and the charger is not signalling a fault, let the cycle complete. The heat level drops on subsequent cycles once the cells are broken in.

The capacity indicator on my device is showing a much lower reading than expected even after a full charge. How do I fix it?

Fuel gauge ICs track capacity against stored cell data from the previous pack. After a swap, that stored baseline is mismatched to the new cells. Run one complete charge followed by a full discharge to empty, then charge again to 100%. That single calibration cycle gives the gauge accurate reference points against the new cells, and the capacity reading will stabilise from that point forward.
