Fits D-Link DWR-330 mobile hotspot router; replaces OEM battery DWR-330.
3.7V 1500mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 5.55Wh to sustain cellular and WiFi radio draw during extended sessions.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot on the DWR-330 base; no locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell on the DWR-330 modem platform — BMS accepts the new pack on first insertion, voltage holds steady under combined cellular and WiFi load.
On first use, keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — the cellular radio operates at maximum output power when devices are far away, generating significant heat that stresses the battery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

D-Link DWR-330 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DWR-330)

This is a 3.7V 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the D-Link DWR-330 portable mobile hotspot. It replaces the original cell when the device no longer holds a charge or fails to power on after a full charge cycle. Dimensions are 66.40 × 43.80 × 5.20mm — confirm before ordering.

  • DWR-330 platform fit: The DWR-330 uses a slim single-cell Li-ion pack with a low-voltage BMS cutoff matched to the device's modem and Wi-Fi radio draw. This replacement uses the same cell configuration and connector orientation to maintain normal BMS communication with the hotspot firmware.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery under simultaneous LTE modem and Wi-Fi radio load — the BMS held stable voltage delivery without triggering early cutoff, and the hotspot maintained a full client session throughout the discharge cycle.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the DWR-330 in an open, ventilated spot during long hotspot sessions. When connected devices are at the edge of range, the cellular radio runs at peak output power continuously — the combined heat from the modem and battery in a confined space accelerates cell degradation faster than normal use patterns.

Why the DWR-330 drops connections mid-session under maximum client load

The DWR-330 runs both a cellular modem and a Wi-Fi radio from a single 3.7V cell. At maximum connected clients, combined current draw spikes sharply — especially when the modem is retransmitting in a weak signal area. An aged or partially degraded battery sags below the BMS protection threshold during those spikes, triggering a momentary shutdown that drops all connected users. A fresh cell with full capacity handles the peak draw without the voltage sag that causes the cutoff.

DWR-330 showing charged but won't power on after sitting unused

If the hotspot was stored without use for several weeks, the battery may have self-discharged below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V for this cell chemistry. At that level, the device draws power but the BMS blocks output to protect the cell, so the power LED either stays off or flashes once and cuts out. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30–40 minutes before attempting to power on — most BMS circuits require a trickle pre-charge phase to bring the cell back above 3.0V before normal boot is permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DWR-330 keeps disconnecting everyone on it even though the battery shows full — why?

A battery that reads full but sags under load is the most common cause. The DWR-330's modem and Wi-Fi radio together pull enough current that a worn cell drops below the BMS cutoff threshold during peak demand — even if the charge indicator looks fine. The device restarts briefly, and every connected client drops. Replacing the battery resolves the sag; if disconnections continue on a new cell, check whether the hotspot is in a low-signal area forcing the modem to maximum transmit power.

Battery drains much faster when I have five or six devices connected compared to just one or two — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — this is expected behaviour specific to the DWR-330's power budget. Each additional client increases both Wi-Fi radio duty cycle and the data throughput the cellular modem must handle, pushing total current draw significantly higher than idle. In a poor signal area, the modem also steps up transmit power to maintain the LTE connection, compounding the drain. To extend time between charges, reduce connected clients when possible or move the hotspot closer to a window for a stronger cellular signal.

DWR-330 won't turn on at all after I replaced the battery — no lights, nothing. What did I miss?

The new cell ships in a partial-charge state and the BMS will block output if voltage is below the minimum boot threshold. Plug the hotspot into its charger for 30–40 minutes before pressing the power button — the BMS needs a trickle pre-charge phase before it permits normal operation. If the device still won't boot after charging, confirm the battery connector is fully seated; a partially engaged connector causes the same symptom as a flat cell. Check that the terminal voltage reads at least 3.6V before ruling out a seating issue.
