Fits Novatel Wireless SA 2100 hotspot and Tasman T1114 router, replacing OEM part 40115130-001.
3.7V nominal, 3400mAh capacity delivers the rated output for extended connectivity during travel without mid-session drops.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive contact facing the device spring — no locking tab, simple seating.
We bench-tested this cell in the SA 2100 under sustained modem and Wi-Fi load; BMS held steady at 3.5V through full discharge.
On first use with the SA 2100, keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated spot during extended sessions — the cellular radio draws maximum power in poor signal areas, generating heat that accelerates battery stress.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Novatel Wireless SA 2100 / Tasman T1114 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (40115130-001)

This 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 40115130-001 in the Novatel Wireless SA 2100 and Tasman T1114 mobile hotspots. It fits the 4G Router variants sharing the same chassis and connector. Capacity is sourced from product data — 12.58Wh total.

  • SA 2100 and T1114 platform compatibility: Both models share the same physical cell format, 3.7V nominal rail, and BMS handshake protocol — the SA-2100 and Tasman T1114 use identical battery cavities and connector pinouts, so one replacement covers the full platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under simultaneous modem and Wi-Fi load at maximum connected-device count. The BMS held voltage within spec through sustained cellular transmission and did not trip on the combined radio draw.
  • Cellular signal and heat management: Keep the hotspot in a ventilated spot during extended sessions. When the SA 2100 is far from a cell tower, the modem transmits at full output power — sustained maximum radio draw generates heat directly inside the battery cavity and accelerates cell wear over time.

Voltage sag on the SA 2100 when multiple devices are connected

The SA 2100 runs two power-hungry subsystems at once — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. At maximum client connections, combined draw spikes sharply. A degraded original cell cannot sustain the 3.7V rail under that spike, so the BMS cuts output to protect the cell. The hotspot then drops all connected sessions simultaneously, which looks like a network fault but is a battery voltage event. A fresh 3400mAh cell provides enough headroom to hold the voltage rail stable through those peaks.

SA 2100 shows full charge indicator but shuts down under load

This symptom points to a cell with high internal resistance — the voltage reads correctly at rest but collapses the moment load is applied. The BMS reads the open-circuit voltage, reports a healthy state of charge, then trips the protection circuit when voltage drops too fast under the modem's draw. Replacing the cell is the only fix — a reconditioning cycle will not recover a high-resistance cell. After fitting the new battery, allow a full uninterrupted charge to 4.2V before first use under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SA 2100 hotspot keeps dropping all connected devices at the same time — is this a network issue or the battery?

This is a battery voltage event, not a network fault. When all clients are active, the combined modem and Wi-Fi draw spikes, and a weakened cell cannot hold the 3.7V rail through that surge — the BMS trips and the hotspot restarts. Replacing the 40115130-001 cell with a fresh 3400mAh unit gives the voltage rail enough headroom to handle the peak draw. Confirm the fix by running the hotspot at full client count for 15 minutes without a drop.

The SA 2100 battery drains much faster in some locations than others — what's causing it?

Poor cellular signal is the direct cause. When the SA 2100 cannot get a strong 4G signal, the modem increases transmit power to maintain the connection — this is the device's highest sustained current draw state. More connected client devices compound the drain further. Move the hotspot closer to a window or external wall to improve signal strength, which reduces transmit power and cuts the load on the battery.

My SA 2100 won't power on after sitting unused for a few months — is the battery dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the SA 2100 will not boot if the cell has dropped below its minimum boot voltage. Connect the original charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — most chargers apply a trickle current to recover a deeply discharged cell before switching to full charge rate. If the indicator light does not respond at all after 30 minutes, the original cell has dropped below the BMS recovery threshold and the cell needs replacement.
