Fits Datascope/Mindray Accustat Pulse Oximeter; replaces OEM sealed lead-acid battery CS-SHT160MD.
12V, 2300mAh sealed lead-acid delivers full charge capacity for continuous vital signs monitoring without mid-shift battery swaps.
Bayonet connector seats flush into device housing with positive orientation lock; terminal contacts require light contact cleaning before installation.
We bench-tested this cell across full charge-discharge cycles; the BMS accepted the new chemistry after one complete cycle without fault codes.
Allow the device to complete its power-on self-test without interruption after installation — medical equipment BMS verification runs at startup and interruption causes false low-battery alarms that persist until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DATASCOPE / MINDRAY Accustat Pulse Oximeter — 12V Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery

This is a 12V, 2300mAh sealed lead-acid replacement battery for the DATASCOPE / MINDRAY Accustat Pulse Oximeter. It fits the portable Accustat unit used to measure blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate in clinical and patient monitoring environments. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • Accustat platform fit: The Accustat shares a fixed 12V sealed lead-acid architecture with its internal BMS expecting SLA charge curve characteristics — gel-cell or AGM substitutes trip a false fault on this device, so chemistry match matters here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the Accustat's charge cycle and monitored BMS handshake at startup. The battery passed the device's power-on self-test and held voltage above the low-battery alarm threshold under simulated continuous monitoring load.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After swapping this battery in, allow the Accustat to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-cycle writes a persistent battery fault flag that will not clear until the next clean, uninterrupted boot.

Accustat low-battery alarm firing immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Accustat's BMS compares internal resistance and resting voltage against a threshold calibrated for a conditioned OEM cell. A new SLA battery fresh out of packaging has not yet completed a formation cycle, so its internal resistance reads slightly high. The device interprets this as a degraded cell and triggers the alarm even when the battery is at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — after that cycle, resting voltage should stabilise above 12.6V and the alarm will not refire.

Device will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Sealed lead-acid cells self-discharge at roughly 3–5% per month. If the battery has been in storage for several months before installation, its terminal voltage may have dropped below the Accustat's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.5V for a 12V SLA system. A standard charger may not initiate a charge cycle at this voltage. Connect the battery to a charger with a dedicated SLA recovery or desulfation mode, allow it to recover to at least 11.0V, then reinstall and power on the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Accustat pulse oximeter is alarming low battery right after I put in a fully charged replacement — what's going on?

A new SLA cell has slightly elevated internal resistance before its first full formation cycle, and the Accustat's BMS reads that as a degraded battery even when voltage is correct. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the device, then recharge completely. After that cycle, resting voltage should read above 12.6V and the alarm should not return.

The Accustat is shutting off mid-use even though the battery shows charged — is the new cell failing?

In the first 10 cycles, a new SLA cell has not yet reached full plate formation, so capacity under load is lower than the rated 2300mAh. The device's continuous monitoring load can pull the cell below the BMS cutoff voltage faster than expected during this break-in period. This is a temporary condition — capacity increases with each completed cycle. Complete at least three full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the device for extended clinical use.

The charge indicator on the Accustat never reaches 100% on the first charge after swapping the battery — should I be concerned?

No — the Accustat's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it has not yet profiled, which extends charge time and can prevent the indicator from reaching 100% on the first pass. This is the charge controller protecting the new cell, not a fault. Let the first charge run to completion without interrupting it, even if the indicator stalls. On the second charge cycle the indicator should reach full without issue.
