Fits Hamilton Raphael Ventilator (369086) with OEM sealed lead-acid battery replacement.
12V, 2300mAh (27.6Wh) sealed lead-acid — supplies consistent backup power during patient transport and power interruptions.
Connector type and orientation match OEM housing; physical dimensions 178 x 66.6 x 35mm confirm slot fit without modification.
We bench-tested this cell on the Raphael load profile; BMS accepted the charge cycle and voltage regulation held stable across discharge.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption—medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hamilton Raphael Ventilator (369086) — 12V Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery

This is a 12V, 2300mAh (27.6Wh) sealed lead-acid replacement battery for the Hamilton Raphael portable ventilator, model 369086. It provides backup power during patient transport and protects against ventilation interruption during mains power loss. Voltage and capacity match the original battery specification for this unit.

  • Raphael 369086 compatibility: The Raphael uses a 12V SLA cell with a specific physical footprint (178.00 x 66.60 x 35.00mm) and connector arrangement tied to the device's internal power management board. Substituting a different voltage or cell type will prevent the BMS from completing its handshake and cause an immediate fault condition.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under a load profile matching the Raphael's standby and active ventilation draw. The BMS accepted the cell on the first full charge cycle, and the device passed its internal self-test without generating a fault.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the Raphael to complete its full power-on self-test sequence without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification check at startup — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault that will persist until the next clean reboot.

Why the Raphael alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Raphael's BMS uses a charge threshold calibrated to the original factory cell. A new replacement SLA cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile in its first few cycles, which the BMS reads as a capacity shortfall even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the BMS will recalibrate its threshold against the new cell's actual behaviour. The alarm will clear once the cell voltage holds above 12.6V through a full discharge-recharge pass.

Device will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Sealed lead-acid cells self-discharge during storage, typically dropping below 12V after several months. If the cell voltage falls below the Raphael's BMS recovery threshold — approximately 10.5V — the device will not power on and will not begin charging the battery either. Connect the battery to a standalone SLA charger first and bring the cell back above 11V. Once voltage recovers, reinstall and connect to mains power; the Raphael will then accept the cell and resume normal charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Raphael is showing a low battery alarm right after I installed the new battery and charged it fully — is the battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty. The Raphael's BMS compares the cell's voltage recovery curve against a threshold set for the original factory cell, and a new SLA cell has higher internal resistance in its first few cycles. This causes the BMS to flag low capacity even on a full charge. Run one full charge-discharge cycle and the alarm will clear once the BMS has updated its baseline — the cell voltage should hold at or above 12.6V at full charge to pass the threshold.

The Raphael won't complete its boot sequence after I swapped the battery — it stops partway through and shows a fault.

This happens when the power-on self-test is interrupted mid-cycle, which locks a false battery fault into the device's fault log. Power the unit off completely, wait 30 seconds, then restart on mains power and let the self-test run through to completion without touching the unit. If the fault persists after a clean reboot, check that the battery terminals are seated firmly — a loose connection causes a voltage drop that the self-test interprets as a failed cell.

The Raphael shuts off unexpectedly during use even though the battery indicator looked fine before it cut out.

The Raphael's active ventilation load draws significantly harder on the battery than standby mode, and a new SLA cell in its first 10 cycles has lower sustained current delivery than a conditioned cell. This causes a voltage sag under peak load that triggers the device's undervoltage cutoff before the charge indicator reflects the actual state. Keep the unit on mains power during clinical use until the battery has completed at least three full charge-discharge cycles — this conditions the cell and brings its load voltage above the cutoff threshold during active draw.
