Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Deli AE2300 / AE2300H / AE2300L — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HYLB-1787)
This is a 7.4V 4000mAh (29.6Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Deli AE2300, AE2300H, and AE2300L survey and test instruments. It replaces OEM part HYLB-1787 directly. The pack slots into the same bay and uses the same connector and BMS handshake as the original.
- AE2300, AE2300H, and AE2300L compatibility: These three variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers all three. The voltage rail and cell configuration are identical across the series, so the BMS handshake completes without error on any of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through probe initialisation cycles and sustained sensor load on the AE2300 platform. The BMS held voltage above the cutoff threshold during the current spike at probe power-up, and the instrument logged clean data throughout the test session without a dropout event.
- First deployment on the AE2300: After installing this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before heading into the field. The AE2300 maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session, even with a fully charged pack.
BMS cutoff when the AE2300 probe module initialises
When the AE2300 powers up a probe or sensor module, there is a brief current spike as the module initialises. On a degraded or deeply discharged original pack, this spike pushes the instantaneous draw past the BMS overcurrent threshold, and the instrument shuts off immediately. This replacement pack uses cells rated for a higher peak discharge current, so the BMS does not trip during that initialisation window. If the instrument still shuts off at probe power-up after fitting this pack, check that the probe connector is clean and fully seated — a high-resistance connection amplifies the voltage sag at that moment.
AE2300 readings drifting or resetting mid-logging session
During a sustained logging session, sensor load draws continuous current. If the pack's cells have degraded, internal resistance rises and the pack voltage sags below the instrument's stable-operation threshold under that steady load — even if the battery indicator still shows partial charge. The instrument interprets the voltage dropout as an instability event and resets the current measurement or drops the log entry. Fitting a fresh pack restores the voltage floor under load. After replacing the battery, confirm resting voltage is at or above 7.8V before starting a logging session.

Frequently Asked Questions
My AE2300 powers on fine but shuts off the moment I connect a probe — why does this keep happening with a new battery?
Probe initialisation draws a sharp current spike that lasts a fraction of a second. If the replacement pack's cells can't deliver enough peak current, the BMS trips its overcurrent protection and the instrument cuts out before the probe finishes powering up. We tested this pack specifically through probe connect cycles on the AE2300 platform and did not see a cutoff event. If the problem persists after fitting this pack, clean the probe connector contacts and check for corrosion — a resistive connection makes the spike worse, not better.
The AE2300 sat in the carry case for several months and now the battery won't charge at all — is the pack recoverable?
After extended storage, the cell voltage can drop below the BMS's recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 5V for a 2S pack. At that point, the charger sees the pack as faulty and refuses to initiate a charge cycle. Most standard chargers cannot recover a pack in this state. Replace the battery with a freshly charged unit and confirm the charger LED cycles normally within the first two minutes of connection — if it does not, the charger itself may need inspection.
The AE2300 shuts down when I transfer data to a PC over USB while the session is still running — is this a battery issue?
USB data transfer adds a second load path on top of the active sensor draw. The combined current pull can drop pack voltage enough to trigger the instrument's low-voltage protection, causing an abrupt shutdown and potentially corrupting the log file. This happens more often as the original pack ages and internal resistance climbs. With a fresh 4000mAh pack at full charge, the voltage headroom is sufficient to handle both loads simultaneously. Before transferring data mid-session, confirm resting pack voltage is above 7.8V — if it is already at the lower end of charge, complete the measurement session first, then transfer.
