Fits Dell Inspiron 1320 and 1320n laptops, replacing OEM part numbers Y264R, F136T, and D181T.
11.1V output at 4400mAh capacity delivers 48.84Wh — sufficient for 2–4 hours of mixed-use runtime depending on screen brightness and CPU load.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the right side; verify the tab engages fully before closing the lid.
We bench-tested this cell in an Inspiron 1320 with a clean BMS handshake on initial charge; the fuel gauge IC required two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles to recalibrate capacity reporting.
After installation, run one complete discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Inspiron 1320 / 1320n — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Y264R)

This 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Dell Inspiron 1320 and 1320n notebooks. OEM part numbers Y264R, F136T, and D181T all cross to this unit. It slots into the same bay and connects to the same BMS interface as the factory cell.

  • Inspiron 1320 and 1320n compatibility: Both models share the same 11.1V three-cell battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One replacement covers either variant without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an Inspiron 1320 and confirmed the BMS completed its initialisation handshake, the charge circuit engaged correctly, and the cell held voltage through a full discharge cycle without triggering a premature cutoff.
  • Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery alone, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Inspiron 1320 BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM and compares it against the new cell on first boot. Because the EEPROM still holds wear data from the old cell, it flags the replacement as degraded before any calibration has occurred. This is not a fault in the new battery — it is a data mismatch. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then charge to 100%, and the BIOS learn cycle overwrites the stale EEPROM values. After one or two cycles the health indicator normalises.

Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The gauge estimates remaining capacity based on old curve data and calls a shutdown before the cell is actually exhausted. The fix is the same calibration cycle — drain to hibernate-cutoff, charge to 100% without interruption, repeat twice. After two full cycles the gauge IC locks onto the correct curve and the early-shutdown behaviour stops. If it persists past three cycles, check that the AC adapter is delivering a stable 19.5V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dell BIOS says "Consider replacing your battery" right after I installed a brand new cell — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Inspiron 1320 BIOS reads health data stored in EEPROM from the old battery and flags the replacement as worn before it has any calibration data to work from. Run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery power alone, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the warning within one or two cycles.

My battery percentage jumps around wildly — drops from 60% to 15% with no warning on the new cell.

The fuel gauge IC inside the Inspiron 1320 builds its capacity model from discharge cycle data, and on a fresh cell it has none yet. Until it maps the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve, percentage readings are essentially guesses pulled from the old curve. Do two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100% and the gauge IC will lock onto accurate readings. Do not interrupt either charge — a partial charge resets the calibration counter.

System information shows the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it lists something different from the 48.84Wh spec.

The Wh figure shown in Dell's system info is read from the battery's EEPROM, which stores the rated capacity value written at the factory rather than a live measurement of actual cell chemistry. A replacement cell from a different production run may carry a slightly different EEPROM-rated value even when the physical chemistry is equivalent. This is a data field difference, not a capacity fault — check actual charge behaviour over two full cycles rather than relying on the static Wh figure reported in software.
