Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Precision 7550 / 7750 Series — 11.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (68ND3)
This is an 11.4V, 7850mAh (89.49Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Dell Precision 7550, 7560, 7750, and 7760 mobile workstations. It replaces OEM part numbers 68ND3, 453-BBCQ, CR72X, G5FJ8, J0VNR, PKWVM, and PWKVM. If your Precision is tethered to the wall or shutting down unexpectedly, this cell restores portable operation.
- Precision 7000-series platform fit: The 7550, 7560, 7750, and 7760 share the same 11.4V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single part number covers all four models. Swapping between these chassis requires no adapter or wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Precision 7550. The BMS communicated correctly over SMBus, charge termination triggered at the expected voltage, and the pack reached full rated capacity without thermal events.
- Post-install calibration on Precision workstations: After fitting, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff under a real workload — CAD or video render works well — then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement
The Precision BIOS stores cycle count, wear level, and design capacity in EEPROM on the battery pack itself. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM data does not match what the BIOS expects from a "healthy" pack — so it flags poor health even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge. The BIOS battery learn cycle rewrites its internal state against the new cell data and the warning clears.
Laptop shuts down abruptly at 20–30% charge shown
The fuel gauge IC on this platform calibrates its state-of-charge curve against the original cell's discharge profile. With a new cell installed, the IC initially maps the wrong voltage-to-capacity relationship — it reports 20–30% remaining at a point where the cell voltage is already near cutoff under the Precision's full CPU and GPU draw. The cell cannot sustain the voltage spike demanded by a heavy render or compile job, so the protection circuit trips and the laptop cuts out. Two to three full discharge and charge cycles recalibrate the fuel gauge IC against the new cell. After that, the reported percentage tracks the actual remaining capacity accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Precision 7550 shows the new battery as "Unknown" or 0% in Windows immediately after fitting — is the cell dead?
No. The Windows fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve, so it reports garbage data on first boot. Run the laptop down to hibernate on battery under a real workload, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the machine. After one full cycle the fuel gauge maps the new cell correctly and the percentage reads accurately.
Dell Power Manager is reporting the wrong Wh rating — it shows something different from 89.49Wh listed on the battery.
The Wh value Dell Power Manager displays is read from the EEPROM on the battery pack, which stores the rated design capacity of the original cell chemistry. A replacement cell with the same voltage and mAh spec can carry a slightly different EEPROM-encoded Wh value depending on how the pack was programmed at manufacture. This does not affect charging, discharge behaviour, or BMS communication. Verify the physical label on the cell reads 11.4V and 7850mAh — if both match, the pack is correct.
The new battery charges fine but stops at 80% and will not go higher — is the cell faulty?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Dell's Precision BIOS includes an Adaptive Charging or Primary Battery Charge Configuration setting that caps charge at 80% when set to "Primarily AC" or "Custom" mode. Open Dell Power Manager or the BIOS battery settings (F2 at POST → Power Management → Battery Charge Configuration) and switch the charge mode to "Primarily Battery" or "Standard" to allow a full 100% charge.
