Fits Dell Streak 7 tablet, replaces OEM part number TY.2C190.002.
3.7V, 2800mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers full charge cycles on this 7-inch Android tablet from 2011 onward.
Connector seats flat against the internal dock with no locking tab — align the two contact pins and press until seated.
We ran a full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by uninterrupted charge to 100% on the bench; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the fuel gauge IC calibration against the new cell and resolves the inaccurate percentage display that appears after a swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Streak 7 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TY.2C190.002)

This is a 3.7V, 2800mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Dell Streak 7 tablet. It also fits the Looking Glass and Opus One variants that share the same battery footprint and connector. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power the device at all.

  • Streak 7, Looking Glass, and Opus One compatibility: All three models use the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake — no modification required to fit this cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the Streak 7 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both low-voltage cutoff and over-current conditions.
  • Fuel gauge reset after installation: After fitting this cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell capacity and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that commonly appear after a battery swap.

Streak 7 shutting down between 15–25% remaining

The Streak 7 runs a 7-inch display alongside WiFi and background Android processes simultaneously. Under that combined load, the battery voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, and the protection circuit reads it as a hard low-voltage event before the display percentage reaches zero. A new cell with a fresh capacity curve can still trigger this if the fuel gauge is calibrated to the old degraded cell. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge — the IC relearns the voltage-to-capacity curve at the correct 3.7V nominal and the early shutoffs stop.

Streak 7 reporting wrong battery percentage after a battery swap

The fuel gauge IC on the Streak 7 stores calibration data tuned to the original cell's discharge curve. Drop in a new cell and that stored data no longer matches actual capacity — the percentage readout drifts, jumps, or flatlines at a fixed number. This is not a fault in the replacement battery. Force a full recalibration: discharge the tablet completely until it shuts off on its own, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. After that single cycle the IC rewrites its calibration against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Streak 7 shuts off by itself when the battery still shows 20% — is this a faulty cell?

The battery itself is not faulty. The Streak 7's fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's discharge curve, so it triggers a low-voltage shutoff before the display counter hits zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that recalibration cycle the IC maps the correct voltage floor to the new 3.7V cell and the early shutoffs stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Streak 7 — what happened?

The charge IC on the Streak 7 runs a negotiation handshake on the first accepted charge cycle after a new cell is installed. Until that first full cycle completes, the device may default to a reduced charge rate as a safety measure. Plug in via the original charger and let it complete one full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that initial cycle the charge IC recognises the new cell and resumes normal charge input.

The battery percentage on my Streak 7 drops really fast from 100% down to about 70%, then slows — is something wrong?

This is fuel gauge drift. The IC is still using calibration data from the old degraded cell, so it over-reports capacity near the top of the charge and the percentage falls steeply before levelling out. It is not a defect in the replacement cell. Discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100% — the IC recalibrates against the new 2800mAh cell and the percentage drop normalises across the full range.
