Fits Dimeq EK606 medical device, Part No 120031 and BATT/110031 replacements.
21.6V, 3000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full capacity on medical diagnostic and monitoring equipment without voltage sag under clinical loads.
Connector seats flush into the EK606 battery slot with positive contact verification — no locking tab, slides in and seats fully.
We bench-tested the pack on a load simulator matching EK606 draw profiles; BMS accepted the cell without fault codes on first insertion.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dimeq EK606 — 21.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (120031)

This is a 21.6V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Dimeq EK606 portable medical device. It matches the OEM part numbers 120031 and BATT/110031. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or fails the device's power-on self-test.

  • EK606 platform fit: The EK606 uses a fixed 21.6V rail with a BMS that handshakes on connector polarity and thermistor signal. This cell matches that connector pinout and includes the NTC thermistor line the charge IC expects — without it, the device flags a battery fault and refuses to charge.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the EK606's charge-discharge profile and confirmed the BMS accepted the thermistor handshake on first connection. Capacity tracked within 4% of rated 3000mAh after the second full cycle.
  • Post-swap self-test requirement: After installation, allow the EK606 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Cutting power during BMS verification locks in a false battery fault that persists until the next clean cold boot — it will alarm low battery even on a full cell.

EK606 charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge

On a new Ni-MH cell, the EK606's charge IC applies a conservative current ceiling during the first charge cycle. It reads the cell's internal resistance as higher than a conditioned pack and backs off before reaching full termination voltage. This is not a fault — it is the charge controller protecting an uncharacterised cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the IC recalibrates; subsequent charges reach full capacity and terminate correctly at 21.6V.

EK606 will not power on after replacement cell sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–3% per day in storage. If this battery sat unshipped or unused for several weeks, its resting voltage may have dropped below the EK606's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 18V on a 21.6V pack. The BMS interprets this as a deeply discharged or faulty cell and blocks power-on to protect the circuit. Connect the device to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to boot; most charge ICs include a trickle pre-charge stage that recovers cells above the hard-cutoff floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EK606 is alarming low battery immediately after I put in the new, fully charged replacement — what's wrong?

The EK606's BMS sets its low-battery threshold against a learned charge profile from the OEM cell. A brand-new Ni-MH replacement hasn't completed a full cycle, so its voltage curve sits outside the expected window and triggers the alarm. This is a calibration issue, not a faulty battery. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the device and the BMS recalibrates its threshold — the alarm clears after that first conditioning cycle.

The EK606 is shutting off mid-use with the new battery — it was fine at startup.

Medical devices like the EK606 apply their highest load during active diagnostic operations, and a new Ni-MH cell shows greater voltage sag under that load in its first 10 cycles than a conditioned pack does. If the instantaneous voltage dip crosses the BMS under-voltage cutoff, the device shuts off to protect the circuit — even if the cell is not deeply discharged. Let the battery complete five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before clinical use; sag drops significantly as the cells form and internal resistance falls.

The EK606 failed its self-test after I swapped the battery — the original passed every time.

The EK606 self-test includes a BMS learn cycle that checks the cell's charge state, thermistor response, and voltage headroom against stored OEM parameters. A new cell that hasn't completed one full cycle won't match those stored values, and the test flags it as a fault. Charge the replacement fully, allow the device to complete an uninterrupted power-on sequence, then run one full discharge before repeating the self-test. Complete that single conditioning cycle before treating any self-test result as clinically valid.
