Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DJI Ronin RS4 Mini — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HX724-3100-7.2)
This 7.4V, 3400mAh (25.16Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the DJI Ronin RS4 Mini compact gimbal stabiliser. It slots into the RS4 Mini's battery bay and feeds the three-axis brushless motor system that keeps footage stable during handheld shooting. Voltage and connector match the OEM spec exactly.
- RS4 Mini motor system compatibility: The RS4 Mini runs three brushless motors off a shared 7.4V rail. All three axes draw simultaneously during aggressive moves, so the BMS on this cell is rated to handle combined peak current without tripping on a standard pan-tilt sequence.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through full initialisation on the RS4 Mini and cycled it through repeated three-axis stabilisation sequences. The BMS held through motor-start surge on each axis and maintained stable output voltage under combined load.
- Balance before powering on: Balance the gimbal properly with your camera attached before switching on. An unbalanced rig forces the motors to work constantly against gravity, drawing sustained high current across all three axes — this accelerates cell depletion and can trigger BMS overcurrent cutoff during fast moves.
Gimbal not initialising correctly after battery swap
The RS4 Mini's IMU runs a startup calibration sequence the moment power is applied. If the battery voltage is low from storage, the IMU may not complete initialisation cleanly, leaving the gimbal in a locked or drifting state. This is not a motor fault — it is the controller failing to establish a stable reference during boot. Charge the replacement battery to at least 7.2V before first use and keep the gimbal still on a flat surface during the 5-second startup sequence.
Stabilisation drift before the battery indicator shows low
The RS4 Mini's battery indicator reads cell voltage at rest, not under load. When all three motors draw simultaneously — common during fast tracking shots — the cell voltage sags below the steady-state reading, and the controller reduces motor torque to protect the system. The result looks like drift or softness in the footage well before the low-battery warning appears. If you see stabilisation degrade during active shooting, check cell voltage under load; below 6.8V under combined motor draw, swap the battery before the next shot.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RS4 Mini cuts out mid-pan and restarts — is that a motor fault or the battery?
That restart pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor failure. When all three axes peak simultaneously during a fast pan, combined current demand spikes sharply, and an aged or partially discharged cell cannot supply it cleanly. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell, the gimbal resets. Charge the battery fully to 8.4V and confirm the fault disappears before suspecting the motors.
The RS4 Mini housing feels warm after a long shoot — is that normal?
Some heat is expected — three brushless motors running continuously generate it. But if the housing is hot rather than warm, check whether the gimbal is balanced correctly with your camera mounted. An unbalanced rig keeps the motors fighting gravity constantly, drawing sustained current that heats both the motors and the battery cell inside the housing. Re-balance the camera, run a fresh charge, and check whether the heat level drops on the next session.
My RS4 Mini drains the battery much faster than it did when the gimbal was new — what causes that?
Faster drain almost always means the camera load has shifted since the original balance setup — lens swaps, added monitors, or cage accessories change the centre of gravity. The motors compensate by drawing more current continuously, which depletes the cell far quicker than a properly balanced rig. Rebalance with every configuration change and confirm the tilt axis sits at neutral when you release it freely. If drain stays high after rebalancing, check resting cell voltage — a cell that reads below 7.0V at rest after a full charge has lost usable capacity and needs replacing.
