Fits EGO CS1400, CS1403, CS1600, CS1604 chainsaw models; replaces BA1400T, BA2242T, BA2800, BA2800T, BA4200, BA4200T, BA5600T, BA5675, BA6720T, BT2240T.
56V lithium-ion with 8000mAh capacity delivers consistent power to the motor throughout a cutting cycle without mid-task voltage sag.
Slide-lock connector seats vertically into the chainsaw grip; dual alignment tabs prevent reversed insertion and ensure firm contact.
We bench-tested this cell in the CS1400 platform; the BMS accepted charge current smoothly and held voltage stable under sustained blade load.
After seasonal storage, charge fully before first use, then run the chainsaw at half throttle for two cycles before full-load cutting — cold-stored cells need motor conditioning before peak inrush demand.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

EGO CS1400 / CS1600 Series — 56V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BA1400T)

This is a 56V 8000mAh (448Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for EGO cordless chainsaws. It fits the CS1400, CS1403, CS1600, CS1604, and 19 additional EGO models. It replaces OEM part numbers including BA1400T, BA2800T, BA4200T, BA5600T, BA5675, BA6720T, and BT2240T.

  • CS1400 and CS1600 platform fit: These chainsaw models share the same 56V ARC Lithium battery platform — same voltage rail, same battery connector, and the same BMS communication protocol. Any EGO battery carrying a BA-series part number in this voltage class seats and handshakes correctly across all listed models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through motor-start inrush cycles on a CS1600 bar. The BMS held through repeated blade-contact load spikes without tripping. Cell balancing stayed within 20mV across all cell groups after 10 consecutive discharge cycles.
  • Seasonal storage conditioning: After winter storage, charge the battery fully before the first cut of the season, then run the chainsaw at half throttle for two full cycles before any sustained full-load cutting. Cold-stored Li-ion cells need those low-load cycles to recover full current delivery before handling peak motor inrush at blade contact.

BMS cutoff on chainsaw motor-start inrush surge

When a chainsaw bar contacts wood under load, the motor draws a sharp current spike — often 3–5× the steady running current. On a new or cold battery, the BMS may interpret that spike as an over-current fault and cut power instantly. This is a protection response, not a battery defect. Running two or three low-load warm-up cycles first stabilises internal resistance across the cell groups and raises the BMS's effective trip threshold during normal cutting.

Charger showing no LED response on a new pack

EGO's standard chargers require the pack voltage to sit above approximately 42V before the charger accepts the battery and starts the charge cycle. A new replacement pack that has self-discharged during shipping or storage may arrive below that threshold. The charger sees an under-voltage condition and refuses to initiate. Connect the battery to an EGO CHUI320E or compatible rapid charger for 15–20 seconds, remove it, then reseat it firmly — this brief contact can prompt the charger's pre-charge circuit to engage and bring the pack up to acceptance voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My EGO CS1400 cuts out instantly the moment the chain touches wood — is the battery faulty?

That cutout is the BMS tripping on motor-start inrush, not a faulty cell. When the bar contacts wood under resistance, current demand spikes sharply and the BMS shuts down the pack to protect the cells. It happens most often on new or recently stored batteries because internal resistance is slightly elevated. Run two cycles at half-throttle on light branches first — this conditions the cells and reduces internal resistance enough for the BMS to handle full-load inrush without tripping.

My EGO charger shows no lights at all when I plug in the new battery — what's wrong?

EGO chargers need the pack to be above roughly 42V before they'll initiate a charge cycle. Replacement packs sometimes arrive below that threshold after shipping and storage self-discharge. Seat the battery firmly in the charger, wait 20 seconds, then remove and reseat it — this can prompt the pre-charge circuit to kick in. If the charger still shows no response, try a different EGO charger; some older single-port chargers lack a pre-charge mode and won't recover a low-voltage pack.

The chainsaw runs noticeably weaker on this new battery than it did on my original — is this normal?

Yes, for the first few cycles. New Li-ion cells haven't fully formed their charge/discharge chemistry yet, and rated capacity isn't reached until after 3–5 full conditioning cycles. The motor will feel less responsive because the cells aren't yet delivering full current at load. Run three complete charge-and-discharge cycles — full charge, then cut until the low-battery indicator activates — and output should reach rated performance. Check the battery terminals are fully seated if weakness persists after five cycles.
