Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dolphin 70e / 75e / 60s — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (70e-BTEC)
This 3.7V 1600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Dolphin 70e, 75e, and 60s handheld terminals. These are compact mobile computers used for barcode scanning in retail, warehousing, and logistics. It also cross-references OEM part numbers BAT-EXTENDED-01 and 60S-BATT-1.
- 70e, 75e, and 60s compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell covers the entire family. The 70e-BTEC form factor slots into each chassis without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the 70e's BMS charge and discharge cycle. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge termination at 4.2V and engaged low-voltage cutoff at 3.0V with no false trips during simulated scan-trigger inrush events.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before use. Scan-trigger inrush current spikes hardest when the cell is near minimum. A fully charged pack on the first shift prevents false BMS trips during pick-and-pack operations.
Cradle showing charging error on a new pack
Charging errors on a freshly installed battery are almost always a contact resistance problem, not a faulty cell. The Dolphin cradle reads pack voltage through the gold-plated dock contacts — any film of dust, skin oil, or warehouse residue pushes resistance high enough for the dock controller to flag an error. Wipe the four contacts on the battery face and the matching cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears, the cell is fine.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The 70e runs its wireless radio and scan trigger simultaneously, and during fast scan sequences that combined draw can cause a brief voltage sag at the cell terminals. If the BMS reads voltage below its minimum threshold during the sag, it momentarily throttles output — the radio drops first because the imager gets priority. This is more likely when the battery is below 20% state of charge. Keep the pack above 3.6V during high-frequency scanning shifts to avoid the sag threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Dolphin 70e imager fires but won't read any barcodes after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?
The imager needs a stable voltage above 3.5V to generate enough illumination for a clean decode. If you installed the new pack and went straight to scanning, the cell may not have been at full charge and the imager is operating below its minimum power threshold. Place the scanner in the cradle and let it charge to 4.2V before returning it to use. After a full charge cycle the read range and decode speed return to spec.
My 70e feels noticeably warm after a full warehouse shift — is that normal?
Sustained scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the 70e's enclosed housing. The Li-ion cell itself contributes when it is delivering steady current across a long shift. Some warmth is expected, but if the housing is hot to the touch the BMS may be working harder than normal due to a high polling interval on the wireless config. Check the wireless scan interval setting in the device configuration — reducing unnecessary polling drops the sustained current draw and keeps the housing temperature in range.
The new battery charges fine but the 70e runs noticeably shorter shifts than the old pack did — what causes that?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling together set the real-world discharge rate, and both are higher in busy environments than most users expect. The 1600mAh rating is measured at a steady low-current draw — heavy scan-and-transmit cycles discharge the cell faster than that baseline. Check whether the device is set to transmit on every scan rather than batching; switching to batch transmit reduces the combined radio and trigger draw significantly. If the shift endurance is still short after that change, check that the cradle contacts are clean so the pack reaches a true full charge at 4.2V each cycle.
