Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DoorLock DL-41 — 6V Alkaline Replacement Battery

This is a 6V alkaline replacement battery with 2300mAh capacity for the DoorLock DL-41 smart door lock. It powers the lock motor, keypad, and wireless connectivity module. Dimensions are 56.60 x 52.30 x 14.40mm — confirm fit before ordering.

  • DL-41 compatibility: The DL-41 runs a single 6V alkaline cell to feed both the deadbolt motor and the keypad backlight on the same voltage rail. Splitting those loads across mismatched chemistry or voltage causes erratic keypad response and missed Bluetooth handshakes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the DL-41's motor-start draw and keypad polling sequence. The cell held above 5.8V through repeated lock-unlock cycles and Bluetooth pairing events without triggering a low-battery cutoff.
  • Post-swap access check: After fitting the battery, test every access method — keypad, Bluetooth app, and any keycard — before closing the door. The DL-41 runs a firmware handshake after power interruption, and some access methods stay locked out until that sequence completes.

Why the DL-41 beeps low battery immediately after a fresh install

The DL-41's low-battery threshold sits at approximately 5.4V. Alkaline cells that have been sitting in warehouse storage can measure 6V open-circuit but sag below 5.4V the moment the motor pulls current. The lock interprets this sag as a depleted cell and fires the warning tone. Use a battery purchased recently — cells stored longer than 18 months are the most common cause of this symptom.

Bluetooth not connecting to the DL-41 after a battery swap

Cutting power to the DL-41 resets its Bluetooth stack, and the module does not automatically re-advertise to previously paired phones on all firmware versions. Open the lock's companion app, navigate to device settings, and force a re-pair rather than waiting for an automatic reconnect. If the app shows the lock as offline after pairing, remove and reinsert the battery once to complete the BMS initialisation cycle, then retry the app connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DL-41 is not responding at all after I put in a new battery — keypad is dead and nothing lights up.

A full power interruption can leave the DL-41's controller in a halted state even with a good battery seated. Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert it firmly — the controller needs a clean boot cycle to initialise the keypad and motor driver. Check polarity before reinserting; reversed polarity produces the same dead-keypad symptom. If the keypad lights up after the clean boot, run through all access methods before closing the door.

The lock motor sounds slow and grinds when unlocking — it was fine before the battery died.

A slow or grinding motor on the DL-41 points to voltage sag under load rather than a mechanical fault. Alkaline cells that read 6V on a multimeter with no load can drop below 5.5V the instant the motor starts, which is enough to make the deadbolt crawl or stall mid-throw. Swap in a fresh battery — cells that sat discharged in the lock for weeks lose the burst-current capacity needed for motor start even if they show adequate resting voltage. After fitting the new cell, check that resting voltage is at or above 6.0V before testing the motor.

My DL-41 keeps showing a low battery alert even though I just replaced the battery with new cells.

The DL-41 triggers its low-battery alert when terminal voltage drops below roughly 5.4V during the motor-draw spike, not at resting voltage. Old stock alkaline cells can pass a resting-voltage check but still sag past that threshold under load. Verify the replacement battery matches the 6V alkaline specification — substituting a lower-voltage or non-alkaline cell will trigger the alert immediately. If the cell is correct and fresh, check the battery contacts for corrosion from the old cells; even light oxidation adds enough resistance to cause the same voltage drop.
