Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Saflok A28310 / DRY0068 / S610945 — 6V Alkaline Replacement Battery (DL-28)
This is a 6V alkaline replacement battery rated at 2300mAh (13.8Wh), using OEM part number DL-28. It fits Saflok electronic door lock models A28310, DRY0068, and S610945 — a lock series widely deployed in hotels and commercial access control systems. Swap it when the original cell depletes and the lock stops responding to credentials.
- A28310 / DRY0068 / S610945 compatibility: All three models run the same 6V power rail with an identical battery compartment footprint (52.00 × 42.60 × 26.50mm). The lock controller draws from a single cell pack, so voltage and physical format must match exactly — an undersized or wrong-voltage cell will not seat the contacts correctly or will trigger an undervoltage shutdown immediately.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a simulated lock cycle load profile matching the motor actuation and RF communication draw typical of the Saflok platform. The cell held stable output above 5.4V through repeated actuation cycles, and the lock controller did not trigger a low-battery interrupt during the test sequence.
- Post-swap lock initialisation: After inserting this battery, test every access method — keypad code, keycard, and Bluetooth app — before closing the door. The Saflok controller on these models runs a firmware handshake after power interruption, and some credential types will not be accepted until that sequence completes fully.
Why the Saflok A28310 stops responding mid-session after a battery swap
The A28310 controller monitors cell voltage continuously and cuts motor power the moment voltage drops below its internal threshold — typically around 5.2V under load. Alkaline cells that have been sitting in storage lose charge gradually, and a cell at storage voltage can read fine on a multimeter at rest but sag below cutoff the instant the lock motor draws current. This causes the lock to appear dead immediately after a fresh swap. Always use cells with a confirmed open-circuit voltage of 6.2V or above before installation.
Low battery warning on the Saflok display immediately after fitting a new DL-28
This happens when the replacement cell voltage sits below the lock's "healthy battery" threshold at the moment the controller first reads it — usually because the cell shipped or stored in a warm environment and self-discharged. The Saflok controller on these models samples voltage within seconds of power-up and flags low battery if it reads below approximately 5.8V. Check the cell's open-circuit voltage with a multimeter before fitting; if it reads below 5.8V, the cell is undercharged for this application. Use a fresh cell measuring 6.0V or higher to clear the warning.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Saflok lock won't respond at all after I put in the new battery — keypad is dead, nothing lights up. What's wrong?
The most common cause is a failed contact reset after power interruption. Remove the battery, wait 15 seconds, then reinsert it firmly until both contacts click into place. The controller needs a clean power cycle to initialise — partial contact during the first insertion can leave it in a fault state. If the keypad still shows nothing, confirm the cell reads 6.0V or above on a multimeter before ruling out a lock fault.
The Saflok app on my phone can see the lock but won't connect after the battery change — Bluetooth just fails every time.
A power interruption clears the active Bluetooth session on several Saflok models, and the lock requires a re-pair rather than a reconnect. Open the app, delete the lock from your paired devices list, then re-add it from scratch using the lock's pairing code. Do this before testing keycard or keypad access, as the firmware handshake that follows pairing also re-enables other credential types on the A28310 platform.
The lock motor sounds slow and grinds slightly when turning — it wasn't doing this before the battery swap.
A slow or laboured motor almost always means the cell voltage is sagging under the motor's start-up current draw. The DL-28 cell for these Saflok models must deliver a clean 6V burst at the moment the motor engages — a cell even slightly below spec will cause sluggish actuation and mechanical strain on the bolt mechanism. Measure the battery's loaded voltage during actuation if possible; it should stay above 5.4V. If it drops below that under load, replace the cell with a fresh unit reading 6.0V or higher at rest.
