Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod 565 / 575 / 577W / 585 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR5600B)
This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Dopod 565, 575, 577W, and 585 Windows Mobile smartphones. It carries OEM part numbers BTR5600B, ST26A, and ST26B. If the original cell has degraded to the point where the phone won't hold a usable charge, this cell restores the device to working condition.
- 565 / 575 / 577W / 585 compatibility: These four Dopod models share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture, battery connector, and cavity dimensions. The BMS handshake expectation is identical across the group, so one cell fits all four without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle and confirmed the BMS communicates charge state correctly to the device. Charge acceptance was clean from insertion with no negotiation errors reported.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on these Windows Mobile devices calibrates against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step leaves the coulomb counter anchored to the old cell's profile.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Dopod 565
This is one of the most reported issues after a cell swap on these devices. The fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the worn original cell, so the percentage shown on screen doesn't reflect the new cell's actual voltage curve. Under modem or display load, the phone pulls current the gauge didn't predict, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold, and the device shuts off without warning. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual capacity. After that cycle, reported percentage and real charge state align.
Device won't power on after sitting in storage — BMS lockout
A Dopod 565 that has been shelved for months with the battery installed often won't power on because the cell has self-discharged below the BMS protection threshold — typically under 2.5V per cell. The BMS locks output to prevent damage to a deeply discharged Li-ion cell. Connect the device to a charger and leave it for at least 30–60 minutes without attempting to power it on — most charger ICs on these phones will trickle current into a locked-out cell to bring it back above the 2.5V recovery threshold before the BMS re-engages. If the charging LED does not illuminate within five minutes, try a different USB cable or wall adapter before assuming the battery is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dopod 565 percentage jumps from 35% straight to 5% and then shuts off — is the new battery faulty?
The battery itself is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Dopod 565 was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original worn cell, and the new cell has a different curve — so the reported percentage and actual cell voltage diverge sharply under load. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's profile and the percentage readout stabilises.
The phone is noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging — is that normal with a new cell?
Some warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new high-impedance cell is normal. The charge IC on these older Windows Mobile devices was tuned to an aged cell with higher internal resistance; a fresh cell accepts current faster, which generates slightly more heat at the charge IC until it settles. If the device becomes hot to the touch or charging stops before 100%, disconnect immediately and let it cool to room temperature before reconnecting. After two or three full cycles the thermal behaviour levels off.
I installed the new battery but the Dopod 565 still won't turn on — what do I check first?
If the device sat discharged for a long period before the swap, the new cell may have also self-discharged in storage below the BMS lockout threshold of 2.5V. Connect to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it untouched for 45 minutes before pressing the power button. A PC USB port may not supply enough current to trigger trickle recovery on a locked-out BMS. If the charging LED comes on within a few minutes, the BMS is recovering; wait for it to reach at least 3.0V before attempting to power the device on.
