Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dopod S700 / Touch T3238 / Tachi — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JADE160)
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion battery for the Dopod S700, Touch T3238, and Tachi smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers JADE160, 35H00118-00M, and BA S330. Capacity figures come from the product data — 4.07Wh at rated voltage.
- S700, Touch T3238, and Tachi compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions (50.99 × 36.56 × 5.40mm), the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, and the same connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across all three, so one cell fits all without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S700 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first connection. Protection circuits tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff with no false triggers during normal screen and call loads.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before daily use. The fuel gauge IC in these devices was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. One complete cycle lets it re-map against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the S700 after a cell swap
The S700's fuel gauge IC reads state-of-charge against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity profile, so the gauge can misread remaining charge by 15–25% until it recalibrates. Under modem or display load, the new cell hits its actual low-voltage floor before the OS expects it. The phone cuts power to protect the cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging — after that the gauge tracks accurately and shutdowns stop.
Phone stays on the boot screen or won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks the charge IC from receiving current. The phone sees no usable voltage and cannot boot. Connect the device to a wall adapter — not a PC port — and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes and the phone boots.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dopod S700 shows 25% battery then shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The S700's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve calibrated to the original battery. A replacement cell with a slightly different voltage profile causes the gauge to report charge remaining when the cell is already near its low-voltage floor. Under modem or screen load, voltage drops fast and the BMS cuts power before the OS can warn you. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging and the gauge recalibrates — shutdowns at 25–30% stop after that.
The battery percentage on my S700 jumps around erratically after fitting this replacement — it went from 60% to 80% without charging.
That's the coulomb counter in the S700's fuel gauge IC losing track of the new cell's state-of-charge. The counter was trained on the original cell's impedance and self-discharge rate. A new cell with different internal resistance throws the calculation off during the first few cycles. Let the phone discharge completely until it powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. One or two full cycles resets the counter's reference points and percentage readings stabilise.
My S700 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is this a sign of a bad cell?
Warmth during early charging on a new cell is normal and expected. A fresh Li-ion cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, and the extra energy dissipates as heat until the cell conditions over the first two or three cycles. If the phone gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, or if warmth continues past the third charge cycle, check that the charge IC is not stuck in a fast-charge mode — disable fast charging in the phone's settings for the first three cycles, then re-enable it.
