Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Drager Talisman X3 / Elite Lite X3 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ACCCT013)
This 7.4V, 4400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the ACCCT013 pack in the Dräger Talisman X3 and Talisman Elite Lite X3 thermal cameras. These cameras are used in firefighting, rescue, and industrial inspection — environments where a battery failure mid-task is a real operational problem. Dimensions are 70.60 × 38.50 × 39.90mm, matching the original pack slot.
- Talisman X3 and Elite Lite X3 compatibility: Both models run the same 7.4V rail and share the ACCCT013 connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers both units without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack under simultaneous display and thermal detector load — the BMS held the output rail stable and did not trigger a protection cutoff under the combined draw.
- Detector calibration on power-up: Allow the camera at least 60 seconds after power-on before beginning measurements. The thermal detector needs the internal electronics to reach stable operating temperature before the baseline calibration is accurate. Starting a scan immediately after switch-on can produce false readings that have nothing to do with the battery.
Talisman X3 shutting down mid-inspection on a charged battery
The X3 pulls current from two sources simultaneously — the display backlight and the thermal detector's resistive heating element. During extended use in cold environments, that combined draw spikes above the steady-state figure. If the pack's internal resistance has climbed due to age or cell degradation, voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold and the camera cuts power to prevent cell damage. The shutdown is not a firmware fault — it is the BMS doing its job. A fresh pack with low internal resistance holds the rail above the cutoff voltage under the same load.
Thermal image accuracy degrading before the battery indicator shows low
The thermal detector in the X3 is voltage-sensitive — measurement accuracy tracks the stability of the supply rail, not just the state of charge percentage the camera displays. As cell voltage drifts in the lower half of the discharge curve, the detector can lose thermal resolution before the battery gauge triggers a warning. Users typically notice this as softening contrast or drift in spot temperature readings. If measurements are becoming unreliable but the battery icon still shows two bars, the actual cell voltage is likely sitting below 7.0V — recharge before continuing critical work.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Talisman X3 keeps shutting off during use even though the battery was fully charged before the shift — what's causing it?
The X3 runs the display and the thermal detector heating element at the same time, and that combined current draw is higher than most people expect. When internal cell resistance rises — from a degraded pack or temperature extremes — voltage sags under load and the BMS trips a protection cutoff before the battery indicator shows empty. This is not a camera fault. Fit a replacement pack and check that cell voltage stays above 7.2V under load before returning to operational use.
The camera is getting noticeably warm in the grip area during long inspections — is that a battery problem or a camera problem?
The heat is almost entirely from the camera's thermal detector and display circuitry, not from a faulty battery. The detector's resistive heating element runs continuously to maintain calibration temperature, and the display adds to that thermal load. A battery drawing excess current due to a failing cell will add heat at the pack itself, but grip warmth during normal use is expected. If the pack body feels hot to the touch — not just the grip — remove it and check the cell voltage at rest; it should read between 7.4V and 8.4V.
My X3 drains a new replacement battery significantly faster than it did when the camera was new — what changed?
Continuous detector heating draws constant current regardless of what is on screen, and that draw increases if the camera's internal temperature compensation is working harder — common when operating in cold environments or after the camera takes physical impacts that shift the detector calibration baseline. Check whether the camera is running the display at maximum brightness; reducing backlight level cuts the parallel draw and extends usable capacity per charge. If drain remains excessive after those checks, confirm the replacement pack capacity matches the original 4400mAh spec before suspecting a camera fault.
