Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Flir One / One 2st — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SDL352054)
This 3.7V 185mAh (0.68Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM SDL352054 cell inside the Flir One and One 2st thermal camera. The Flir One clips to a smartphone and powers both the thermal detector array and onboard image processing. When the original cell degrades, thermal accuracy drops before the battery indicator reaches red.
- One and One 2st compatibility: Both generations share the SDL352054 cell format, the same 3.7V supply rail, and the same compact body dimensions. The 54.00 × 20.54 × 3.60mm profile fits the internal cavity without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under combined detector-plus-display load. The BMS held stable voltage through the full draw cycle and tripped protection correctly at the low-voltage threshold without premature cutoff.
- Thermal detector warm-up: After powering on, allow 60 seconds before starting any inspection. The thermal detector needs that window to reach a stable internal temperature — readings taken before stabilisation will show baseline drift that looks like a hardware fault.
Why the Flir One cuts out mid-inspection on a freshly charged battery
The Flir One draws current from two sources simultaneously — the thermal detector's heating element and the display pipeline feeding frames to the smartphone. On an aged cell, this combined load causes voltage to sag below the BMS protection threshold even when the battery indicator still shows partial charge. A replacement cell with a healthy internal resistance handles the combined draw without tripping. If shutdowns persist after replacement, check that the smartphone USB connection is clean — a resistive contact forces the camera to pull harder from the internal cell.
Thermal image looking washed out or low-contrast before the battery reads empty
The Flir One's thermal detector is voltage-sensitive. As cell voltage sags under load — even while the indicator still shows green — the detector's bias voltage drops and temperature resolution degrades. The result looks like reduced contrast or a flattened colour palette, not a dead battery. Swap the cell and check that resting voltage measures at or above 3.7V before installation. If the new cell rests below 3.5V out of the box, run one full charge cycle before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Flir One keeps shutting off during building inspections even though I just charged it — what's happening?
The thermal detector heating element and the display output run simultaneously, and that combined current draw causes a worn cell's voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff point well before the indicator hits empty. The camera interprets that voltage sag as a low-battery condition and shuts down to protect the cell. Replacing the SDL352054 cell resolves this — a fresh cell with low internal resistance holds voltage stable under the combined load. After fitting the new battery, confirm resting voltage is at or above 3.7V before your next inspection.
The thermal image on my Flir One looks faded and low-contrast but the battery still shows as charged — is the camera broken?
The thermal detector in the Flir One requires a stable bias voltage to produce accurate temperature resolution. When the cell ages and its internal resistance rises, voltage sags under load even if the indicator reads green — and that sag is enough to flatten the detector's output, producing washed-out or low-contrast imagery. This is a cell condition issue, not a sensor fault. Fit a replacement SDL352054 cell and allow a 60-second warm-up after power-on before judging image quality.
My Flir One housing gets noticeably warm during extended use and the battery drains faster than it used to — are these related?
Yes. The thermal detector contains a small heating element that runs continuously to maintain the sensor at operating temperature, and the display pipeline adds to that constant current draw. As the original cell loses capacity through charge cycles, that steady combined load represents a larger fraction of the remaining usable capacity — so drain appears to accelerate even though the draw itself hasn't changed. The housing warmth is normal for this device class, but if it feels hot rather than warm, the cell may be venting internally. Replace the SDL352054 cell and verify the replacement rests at 3.7V before first charge.
