Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dreame MC1808 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 14.4V 5200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Dreame MC1808 cordless stick vacuum. It fits directly into the MC1808 and restores the vacuum's operating voltage without replacing the full unit. Capacity is 74.88Wh, matching the original specification.
- MC1808 voltage rail: The MC1808 motor runs on a 14.4V nominal rail. Drop below that threshold mid-clean and the vacuum's suction drops noticeably before the indicator light reacts. This cell holds the rail flat across the discharge curve until the BMS cuts off at the low-voltage threshold.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge runs on the MC1808. The BMS communicated correctly with the vacuum's charge circuit, and the overcurrent protection tripped as expected under a simulated blockage load — then reset cleanly when the restriction cleared.
- Dock charging on the MC1808: Do not leave the MC1808 sitting on the dock permanently between uses. Continuous dock charging pushes a trickle current into Li-ion cells long after they are full, accelerating capacity fade over weeks. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low
This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. When the motor encounters extra resistance — a partially blocked filter, dense carpet, or a tangled brush roll — it draws more current than the rated load. An aged or partially degraded cell cannot hold the 14.4V rail under that spike, so output voltage dips and suction weakens even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean the filter first. If suction restores immediately, the cell was fine and the filter was restricting airflow. If suction stays weak with a clean filter, the cell is no longer holding voltage under load — replace it.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a few seconds
This is the BMS overcurrent trip firing under sustained restricted suction. When airflow is blocked — typically a clogged filter or packed dustbin — the motor works harder to maintain suction, current draw climbs past the BMS trip threshold, and the pack shuts off to protect the cells. The BMS resets after a brief cooldown, which is why the vacuum restarts on its own. Check and empty the dustbin, then wash or replace the filter. If cut-outs continue with a clear airflow path, check that the battery contacts are seating fully — a partial connection raises contact resistance and can trigger the same BMS response.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dreame MC1808 loses suction well before the battery light goes red — is the new battery going to fix that?
Not always — suction loss before the low-battery indicator triggers is usually voltage sag under load, not a depleted cell. A degraded original battery cannot hold the 14.4V rail when the motor hits resistance from a partially blocked filter or thick carpet. Clean or replace the filter first and check the dustbin is empty. If suction is still weak with a clear filter, the original cell is no longer holding voltage under load and replacing it will restore performance.
The MC1808 keeps cutting out mid-clean and restarting by itself — will a replacement battery stop this?
That behaviour is the BMS overcurrent protection tripping, usually caused by restricted airflow forcing the motor to draw more current than the pack allows. Check the filter and dustbin before replacing the battery — if the cut-outs stop after clearing the blockage, the original pack may still be serviceable. If cut-outs continue with a clean filter and clear airflow path, the cell's internal resistance has risen enough that normal motor-start current now trips the threshold. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance will stop the cycle.
My MC1808 runtime dropped significantly after about a year of leaving it on the dock — is that normal?
It is common but avoidable. Li-ion cells in cordless vacuums that sit permanently on a charging dock receive a continuous trickle charge after reaching full capacity. Over weeks and months that trickle accelerates capacity fade faster than normal charge cycles would. The capacity loss is real and does not reverse — the cells are permanently degraded. With a new battery, charge to full and remove the vacuum from the dock rather than leaving it docked between every use.
