Fits Dual DAB Pocket Radio 5 model, replaces OEM part number 10269.
Outputs 3.7V at 1350mAh capacity — sufficient voltage for full RF transmission power during DAB station scanning and reception.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the radio housing.
Bench testing showed stable voltage delivery across discharge cycles with no early BMS cutoff during DAB decoder operation.
After installation, let the radio run a full auto-scan for stations before manual tuning — DAB station lists reset after power loss and require a fresh scan to rebuild the station memory.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dual DAB Pocket Radio 5 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (10269)

This is a 3.7V, 1350mAh (5Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Dual DAB Pocket Radio 5. It replaces the original internal cell that degrades over charge cycles, restoring the radio to normal operation. Dimensions are 54.40 × 42.00 × 4.80mm — confirm these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • DAB Pocket Radio 5 fitment: The DAB Pocket Radio 5 uses a slim Li-Polymer cell at this exact footprint. The BMS in the radio manages charge termination and low-voltage cutoff — this cell meets the voltage and size requirements for that circuit to function correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags, held voltage through the DAB decoder's draw, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
  • Post-install station scan: After fitting this battery, run a full auto-scan before manually tuning stations. DAB station lists are stored in volatile memory and are lost when power is interrupted. A fresh scan rebuilds the list correctly — manual tuning before scanning will miss stations.

Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery

The DAB decoder in the Pocket Radio 5 needs a stable voltage to maintain stream synchronisation. As the cell discharges toward 3.4V, voltage sags under the decoder's draw and the stream drops out — the radio may cut audio, lose the station lock, or restart. This happens more often in areas with weaker DAB signal because the RF front end draws harder to maintain reception. Fitting a fresh cell with full charge eliminates sag-driven dropouts.

Reception noticeably worse than it was on the original battery

Poor reception after a battery swap usually means the new cell's resting voltage is low from storage — not a fault with the radio or antenna. The RF amplifier stage requires the cell to be above approximately 3.6V to output full signal-search power. Charge the new battery fully before judging reception quality. If weak signal areas still cause dropout, move to a window or higher floor — DAB signal strength is location-dependent, not a battery issue.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dual DAB Pocket Radio 5 lost all its saved stations after I swapped the battery — how do I get them back?

Station lists in the DAB Pocket Radio 5 are held in volatile memory, so any power interruption wipes them. There is no backup — they cannot be recovered from the old battery. Go to the radio's menu, run a full auto-scan, and let it complete without interruption. That rebuilds the full station list for your area.

The radio works fine at home but cuts out constantly when I take it somewhere with weaker DAB signal — is this a battery issue?

Yes, partly. In weak signal areas, the RF front end draws more current trying to maintain station lock, which causes voltage to sag faster on a partially discharged cell. The DAB decoder loses stream sync when voltage dips, and audio drops out. Start each session with a fully charged battery — a cell sitting at 3.5V will sag under that extra RF draw where a full cell at 3.7V holds steady.

Battery life on this radio seems much shorter in winter — what's happening?

Li-Polymer cells lose usable capacity when the internal temperature drops below around 10°C. The Pocket Radio 5 is a portable unit often used outdoors, so cold ambient temperatures directly reduce how much energy the cell can deliver per charge. Keeping the radio in a jacket pocket rather than a bag pocket slows the temperature drop. Capacity returns to normal once the cell warms back up to room temperature.
