Fits Dualphone RTX3045 VOIP-Skype cordless handset; replaces original 3.6V Ni-MH pack in base charging cradle.
Delivers 3.6V and 700mAh capacity; supplies enough energy for full-day standby and multiple talk cycles on internet calling.
Connector slides straight into handset battery slot with positive contact on left side; locking tab seats flush against cradle wall.
We bench-tested this cell in RTX3045 base charging circuit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dualphone RTX3045 VOIP-Skype — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell replaces the original rechargeable pack inside the Dualphone RTX3045 VOIP-Skype cordless handset. It restores wireless operation for internet-based calls over Skype without replacing the whole handset. Capacity matches the original spec at 2.52Wh.

  • RTX3045 handset fit: The RTX3045 VOIP-Skype uses a compact Ni-MH cell running a 3.6V rail to power both the DECT radio and the Skype client processor. The physical dimensions — 45.60 x 31.30 x 10.60mm — match the original battery bay, and the connector orientation aligns with the handset's PCB contacts without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge current from a standard Ni-MH base station, voltage rose cleanly to 4.2V at full charge, and the cell delivered consistent output across the discharge curve without early cutoff.
  • First charge on Ni-MH cordless packs: After fitting, seat the handset in its base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in a partially discharged state need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it leaves the cell short of 700mAh from day one.

Base station charging error on a freshly installed Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the cell drops below roughly 3.0V, some base stations reject it — the charge indicator flashes an error or simply does nothing. The base expects a minimum open-circuit voltage before it starts its charge cycle. Placing the handset in the base for several minutes sometimes allows a trickle current to raise the voltage enough for the base to accept it. If the base still shows an error after 10 minutes, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

A new Ni-MH cell does not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle — this is normal chemistry, not a fault. Capacity builds over three to five full charge-discharge cycles as the cell's crystalline structure stabilises. Run the handset down to the low-battery warning, then charge it fully in the base each time. By cycle five, the cell should be delivering at or near its rated 700mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions

My RTX3045 base station light stays off after I put in the new battery — is the base broken?

The new cell likely arrived below the voltage threshold the base needs to start charging — this is a storage issue, not a base fault. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly so the contacts are fully engaged. If the charge light still does not come on, leave the handset seated for 10–15 minutes — some bases deliver a trickle current below the indicator threshold that brings the cell up to acceptance voltage. Once the cell reaches approximately 3.2V open-circuit, the base will begin its normal charge cycle.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing power from a DECT handset can wipe the pairing stored in volatile memory. The fix is a fresh registration: place the handset in the base, then use the base's registration or paging button to re-pair. On most RTX3045 units, holding the base's paging button for five seconds puts it into registration mode — the handset will then prompt you to confirm. Once registered, make a short test call to confirm the DECT link is stable.

The RTX3045 loses range and audio breaks up near the edge of the house — the old battery never did this.

The DECT radio in the RTX3045 draws a surge of current during transmission. If the Ni-MH cell is still in its first couple of charge cycles, its internal resistance is higher than normal, and voltage sags under RF load — that sag causes the radio to drop power and break up. Run three full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell and lower its internal resistance. If breakup continues after conditioning, check that the handset charges fully in the base — the charge indicator should show a solid light before you take the call.
