Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Einhell P-X-C Plus / Power X-Change — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (45.114.36)
This 18V 2000mAh (36Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack across the Einhell P-X-C Plus and Power X-Change cordless tool platform. It fits drill-drivers, impact drivers, and other 18V tools in that lineup, including the TE-CD 18/40 and compatible models sharing the same battery interface. Voltage and cell count match the OEM spec exactly.
- P-X-C Plus and Power X-Change platform fit: Every tool in this Einhell family runs on a shared 18V rail with a standardised slide-in connector and common BMS communication protocol — that's why one battery pack spans hundreds of models. The physical latch, contact layout, and charge handshake are consistent across the platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge-discharge cycles on a TE-CD 18/40 and monitored BMS response across inrush events at trigger pull. The overcurrent protection engaged correctly on hard-start spikes, and cell balance held within spec after repeated deep discharge cycles.
- Motor inrush conditioning on first use: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before applying maximum torque. This allows the BMS to profile actual motor inrush current draw and set appropriate overcurrent thresholds before heavy-duty applications.
BMS cutoff on drill motor-start inrush surge
When you pull the trigger hard on a stalled or high-resistance workpiece, the motor draws a current spike that can be three to five times the steady running draw. If the BMS reads that spike as an overcurrent fault, it trips the protection circuit and cuts power instantly. This is not a faulty battery — it's the protection circuit doing its job. A new pack that hasn't been through any cycles has tighter default thresholds; two or three moderate-load cycles recalibrate those limits and typically resolve nuisance trips.
Charger not recognising the pack after storage
Li-ion cells that drop below roughly 2.5V per cell enter a deep-discharge state that standard chargers refuse to accept — the charger reads zero handshake from the BMS and either blinks red or does nothing. Most Einhell chargers include a recovery or boost mode; consult the charger label for the button sequence to activate it. If no recovery mode exists, a short pulse from a lab power supply at 18–19V can wake the BMS enough for the charger to take over. Pull the pack off the charger and check the terminal voltage — if it reads above 15V after five minutes, the recovery is working.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Einhell drill cuts out the instant I pull the trigger hard — is the battery dying or is something else going on?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not cell failure. The motor-start inrush spike on a loaded drill can hit 20–30A for a fraction of a second, and a new or recently stored pack has conservative trip thresholds. Run two or three light-load cycles first — drilling into soft timber, not driving lag screws — and the BMS recalibrates its overcurrent window. If it still cuts out after that, check the contact rails on both the battery and the tool for corrosion or debris reducing conductivity.
The tool feels underpowered and bogs down halfway through a cut — is this a battery or tool problem?
This is voltage sag, and the first place to check is contact resistance. Dirty or slightly corroded slide-in contacts add resistance to the current path, which drops the voltage the motor actually sees under load. Remove the pack, clean both the battery terminals and the tool's contact rails with a dry cloth or fine abrasive, then reinsert firmly. If the problem persists, charge the pack to full and check the resting voltage with a multimeter — a healthy 18V pack should sit at 20–21V fully charged.
The battery works fine in summer but the tool feels sluggish and weak on cold mornings — what's happening?
Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C — at freezing temperatures, a 2000mAh pack can deliver noticeably less current before the voltage rail sags under load. The cells aren't damaged; they're just temporarily less conductive. Warm the battery to room temperature before use — 15 minutes indoors is enough. Cold storage doesn't degrade the cells long-term, but repeated hard use while cold accelerates capacity fade, so avoid heavy drilling at full torque until the pack has warmed up.
