Fits Emporia Smart 2 mobile phone and replaces OEM battery part number AK-S2.
3.8V and 2400mAh capacity restores full daily standby and talk time on aging cells.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on top.
We cycled this pack through five charge-discharge passes on an Emporia charger dock; BMS accepted fast charge from cycle two onward without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Emporia Smart 2 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AK-S2)

This 3.8V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original AK-S2 battery in the Emporia Smart 2 smartphone. It restores power to a phone that won't hold charge or shuts down unexpectedly. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.

  • Emporia Smart 2 fitment: The Smart 2 uses a specific connector pinout and BMS handshake tied to the AK-S2 part number. This cell carries the matching contact layout and charge profile so the phone's charge IC accepts it without throwing a protection fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Smart 2 platform. The BMS accepted the charge profile on the first cycle, protection cutoffs triggered correctly at both ends of the voltage window, and no thermal events were recorded.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register — preventing false percentage readings from the start.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff under load — the modem or screen draws current, voltage dips sharply, and the phone interprets it as an empty battery. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the actual cell curve and the shutdowns stop.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The Smart 2's fuel gauge IC stores the charge curve of the previous cell in memory. When a new cell goes in, the IC continues reading against old data — so 40% on screen may mean 15% actual charge remaining. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown once, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle overwrites the stored curve and brings the percentage display back in line with real capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Emporia Smart 2 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Smart 2 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old battery, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell and triggers a shutdown early. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown once, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single full cycle resets the coulomb counter against the new cell and the early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Emporia Smart 2 — what happened?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Smart 2 sometimes withholds the fast charge handshake until it has confirmed the new cell's impedance is within expected range. This is a one-cycle precaution built into the charge controller, not a permanent fault. Let the phone complete one full charge on standard current, then reconnect your fast charger — the protocol should be accepted from the second cycle onward.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging after I put the new cell in — should I be concerned?

Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal. A new Li-Polymer cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a fully conditioned cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat as current flows in. The temperature should drop noticeably by the third or fourth charge cycle as the cell conditions. If the phone remains hot to the touch after five full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the contact pins are clean and flat.
