Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Epson 6200T / Vividy Note Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (DR36)
This is a 12V, 3800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Epson 6200T portable printer and Vividy Note series notebooks including the Pro CX, 512ST, and 510ET. It replaces OEM part numbers DR36 and DR36S. The battery restores cordless operation for mobile printing and field use where mains power is not available.
- 6200T and Vividy Note platform fit: These models share the same 12V rail, DR36 connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell works across the entire listed range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the 6200T. The BMS accepted the pack without fault codes, and charge termination triggered correctly at capacity.
- Ni-MH cycle conditioning: Ni-MH cells in portable printers are prone to voltage depression if repeatedly shallow-cycled in short print sessions. Run the pack to full depletion at least once every 30 cycles to prevent memory-like capacity drift specific to this chemistry.
Why the 6200T reports a low-battery warning immediately after a new pack is installed
The 6200T's fuel gauge IC retains state data from the previous cell. When a fresh DR36 pack is installed, the IC reads residual EEPROM values and displays an inaccurate charge level — sometimes showing critically low even on a fully charged replacement. This is not a fault with the new cell. Run one full charge cycle uninterrupted to 100%, then allow the device to discharge to automatic shutoff. That sequence forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity curve.
Device shuts down mid-print job despite the gauge showing charge remaining
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under the combined load of the print head and paper feed motor — typically around 10.5V for a 12V Ni-MH pack. The fuel gauge reads average voltage, not load voltage, so it shows remaining charge while the cell is already collapsing under peak draw. A cell showing this symptom after fewer than 20 cycles likely has elevated internal resistance from improper storage or a manufacturing variance. Measure open-circuit voltage after a full charge — it should hold above 13.2V at rest before accepting the cell as healthy.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Epson 6200T fuel gauge is jumping around wildly after fitting the new DR36 battery — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC needs several full charge-discharge cycles to map its calibration curve against the new Ni-MH chemistry. Wild readings in the first two to three cycles are normal — the IC is recalculating from scratch after the old cell's data was cleared. Run two complete cycles from full charge to automatic shutoff, and the gauge will stabilise.
The replacement DR36 battery shows 0% or "unknown" on the device display right after install — why?
The device's gauge IC lost its reference data when the old cell was removed. It has no stored baseline for the new pack, so it defaults to 0% or an unknown state. Charge the new cell uninterrupted to 100% before first use — this gives the IC its upper reference point and clears the unknown reading. Do not interrupt the first charge cycle.
The new DR36 cell charges fully but the Vividy Note shuts off during heavy use while still showing 30% remaining — what is happening?
Under peak processor and display load, the cell's voltage drops faster than the gauge can track. The BMS trips on actual voltage, not the gauge reading, so the device cuts out while the display still shows charge. Check open-circuit voltage immediately after a full charge — a healthy 12V Ni-MH pack should read above 13.2V at rest. If it reads below 12.8V after a full charge cycle, the cell has elevated internal resistance and should be returned.
