Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

ESYLUX SLP-2 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EN10061127)
This is a 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the ESYLUX SLP-2 rechargeable flashlight. It fits the SLP-2 used in emergency lighting, search and rescue, and professional inspection work. Physical dimensions are 66.60 × 36.80 × 20.00mm — verify against your existing cell before ordering.
- SLP-2 fitment: The SLP-2 runs a two-cell 7.4V Li-ion pack that feeds directly into the driver board. The EN10061127 pack shares the same voltage rail, connector, and cell arrangement as the factory unit, so the driver BMS handshake completes without error codes on startup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the SLP-2 platform. The BMS held cell balance across both cells throughout full discharge, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff before either cell dropped below safe floor voltage.
- Multi-cell replacement protocol: The SLP-2 uses a two-cell series pack. If one cell in your original pack has degraded more than the other, do not mix the old pack with the new one or swap individual cells. Replace the full pack as a unit — mismatched cell ages under high-current draw will cause the weaker cell to drain first and destabilise the pack.
SLP-2 driver stepping down brightness before the battery indicator reads low
The SLP-2 driver monitors pack voltage in real time, not just cell percentage. When voltage sags under load — typically below 6.8V on a 7.4V pack — the driver activates brownout protection and reduces output before the indicator LED signals low battery. This is intentional. The driver is protecting the emitter and the cells from a hard cutoff under draw. If your light dims noticeably but the indicator still reads partial charge, the pack is near end-of-life and holding surface voltage without load capacity.
Flashlight flickering or cycling through modes near end of charge
Mode cycling at low charge is a driver brownout loop — voltage drops below the driver's minimum threshold, the driver resets, briefly draws current again, and repeats. This is not a driver fault; it is the driver trying to restart as the pack voltage recovers slightly after each dropout. Switch the light to its lowest output mode immediately — lower current draw reduces voltage sag and stops the cycling. If cycling starts well before the indicator reads empty, the pack's internal resistance has increased and it can no longer deliver sufficient current at working voltage; replace the pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ESYLUX SLP-2 dims significantly in turbo mode but runs fine on standard — is the battery the problem?
Turbo mode pulls 5–10x more current than standard mode, which causes a sharper voltage sag on any pack with elevated internal resistance. A healthy new pack handles the current spike without the driver stepping down output; a degraded pack cannot sustain the voltage rail under that load and the driver reduces brightness to compensate. This is a pack condition issue, not a driver fault. Fit a replacement pack and retest turbo — if dimming stops, the old pack's internal resistance was the cause.
The SLP-2 won't hold charge as long as it used to, even though it charges to full — what's happening?
Capacity fade from shallow cycling is the most common cause. Li-ion cells in a flashlight that is regularly topped up before fully discharging lose usable capacity over time — the cells calibrate around a shorter charge window and the BMS never reconditions the full range. The pack may read full voltage at rest (8.4V) but deliver far fewer watt-hours under load. Run the pack down fully on a low output mode, charge it completely, and retest. If runtime stays short, the cells have faded past recovery and the pack needs replacing.
One side of the SLP-2 pack gets noticeably warmer than the other during use — is that normal?
No. In a balanced two-cell series pack, both cells should run at similar temperatures under load. Uneven heat points to one cell carrying more of the current draw, which happens when the two cells have diverged in internal resistance — usually from age or a prior deep discharge on one cell. The weaker cell works harder, heats faster, and will degrade further with each cycle. Stop using the pack. A single unbalanced cell under sustained high-current draw in a flashlight is a safety risk. Replace the full pack rather than attempting to continue use.
