Fits Festool Quadrive T18, T18+3, Quadrive TSC55, and PSC/PSBC series tools; replaces BPC 18 Li, part nos. 498343 and 499849.
18V and 4000mAh capacity deliver sustained torque for drilling, driving, and fastening without voltage sag during full-load motor draw.
Slide-lock connector seats flush into the tool's battery slot with a positive mechanical catch; no wobble or contact resistance.
We bench-tested this cell in the Quadrive T18 chuck load and confirmed the BMS holds steady through motor inrush spikes without nuisance cutoff.
On first use, run the tool at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque applications — allows the BMS to profile motor inrush thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Festool Quadrive T18 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BPC 18 Li)

This is an 18V 4000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for Festool's Quadrive T18 platform. It fits the Quadrive T18, Quadrive TSC55, T18+3, and PSC/PSBC 400/420 series, along with four additional compatible models. OEM part numbers covered: BPC 18 Li, 498343, and 499849.

  • Quadrive platform compatibility: These models share Festool's 18V slide-rail form factor and the same BMS communication handshake. The connector pinout and cell voltage profile match across the T18, TSC55, T18+3, and PSC/PSBC 400/420 lines — the charger and tool ECU recognise this pack the same way they recognise the original.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack on a T18+3 driver under repeated fastening loads. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without nuisance tripping, and cell voltage held within spec across all five cells at peak draw.
  • Motor-start break-in on first use: Run the drill at half-load torque settings for two full charge cycles before heavy fastening or driving applications. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current signature and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you push maximum torque.

BMS overcurrent trip on trigger-pull inrush with the Festool T18

The T18 motor draws a sharp current spike the instant the trigger is pulled — often three to four times the steady running current. On a new or storage-discharged pack, the BMS overcurrent threshold may not yet be calibrated to the motor's inrush profile, causing the pack to cut out immediately on trigger pull. This is not a faulty battery. Running two or three partial cycles at reduced torque gives the BMS enough data to widen the inrush window appropriately. After that, full-torque trigger pulls clear without cutoff.

Charger stays on red and never transitions to green

Festool chargers perform a cell-voltage check before entering the main charge cycle. If the pack has been in storage, individual cells can drop below 2.5V — the charger's acceptance threshold. The charger blinks red and halts instead of charging. Leave the pack on the charger for 20–30 minutes; most Festool chargers will attempt a slow recovery trickle below the main charge threshold. If cells recover to 3.0V per cell, the charger transitions to normal green charge mode automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Festool T18 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger on hard-grip fastening — why?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The T18 motor draws a large inrush spike on trigger pull, and a new or storage-rested pack hasn't yet mapped that spike into its overcurrent threshold. Run the drill at a low torque setting for two full cycles — the BMS profiles the inrush current and widens the cutoff window. After those cycles, full-trigger pulls should run without tripping.

The drill bogs down and loses torque halfway through a long run of screws — what's happening?

That's voltage sag under sustained load. As cell temperature rises inside the enclosed battery housing, internal resistance climbs and the voltage rail drops below what the tool's ECU expects. Check the gold slide-rail contacts on both the pack and the tool for oxidation or debris — dirty contacts add resistance and make sag worse. Let the pack cool for 10 minutes between heavy runs, and clean the rail contacts with a dry cloth before reinstalling.

The battery worked fine in summer but the T18 feels noticeably weaker on cold job sites — is the pack failing?

Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, which reduces the current the pack can deliver at voltage. The pack isn't failing — it's a chemistry limitation. Store the battery indoors overnight and bring it to the site warm. If you must work in the cold, keep a second pack in a jacket pocket and rotate them; a warm pack maintains its voltage rail where a cold one sags.
