Fits Fiio E7 and E17 portable amplifiers, replaces OEM part 523455.
3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full charge capacity for extended listening sessions.
Connector seats flush into the E7 battery slot with a single-tab locking mechanism on the left edge.
We bench-tested the cell on the E7's USB charge circuit — BMS accepted input cleanly, discharged through the audio output stage without voltage sag artifacts.
Run the E7 at 50% volume for the first full charge cycle; full-volume operation during initial use draws peak current from an uncalibrated cell and triggers early BMS shutdown.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fiio E7 / E17 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (523455)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh lithium-polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the Fiio E7 and E17 portable USB DAC and headphone amplifiers. It matches the OEM part number 523455 and fits the physical cavity of both units. Capacity and voltage specs come from the product data — not estimated from third-party sources.

  • E7 and E17 compatibility: Both units share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake voltage. The 55.00 × 33.40 × 6.10mm cell slots into either chassis without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the E7 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and charge termination cut off cleanly at full capacity.
  • First-cycle gain setting: Run the amplifier at 50% volume for the first full charge cycle. Full-volume operation on an uncalibrated cell draws peak current before the BMS has mapped delivery capacity, which can trigger a premature protection cutoff.

Amp shutting off before the battery indicator reaches empty

The E7's amplifier stage requires a minimum rail voltage to sustain clean output. When cell voltage drops under load — particularly at higher volume — the amplifier can drop out before the fuel gauge registers empty. This happens because the gauge reads open-circuit voltage, not loaded voltage. Under audio power draw, voltage sag can cross the amp's cutoff threshold while the display still shows one or two bars remaining.

Clipping and distortion at moderate volume on a new cell

A new, uncalibrated cell can deliver inconsistent current during its first few cycles, which causes momentary voltage sag under the amplifier's output stage. That sag shows up as clipping or distortion at volume levels that previously played clean. Run two full charge-discharge cycles at moderate gain before drawing any conclusions about the cell's performance. After calibration, stable delivery should restore clean headroom to the amp's rated output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Fiio E7 gets noticeably warm during long listening sessions — is the new battery causing this?

Heat during extended use comes from two sources: amplifier efficiency losses in the output stage and heat generated as the cell discharges under sustained current draw. A new cell can run slightly warmer in its first few cycles while the BMS calibrates delivery curves. If the unit stays warm but not hot to the touch, that is within normal range. If it becomes too hot to hold comfortably, check that the gain switch is not set higher than your source signal requires — unnecessary gain amplification wastes current as heat.

Battery drains much faster when I switch to the high-gain setting — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. Output power scales directly with gain — higher gain means the amplifier draws more current from the cell to drive the increased signal level. On the E7, the high-gain setting is intended for low-sensitivity headphones that genuinely need it. Using high gain with sensitive in-ears or efficient headphones wastes current without improving sound quality. Switch to low gain for everyday listening and reserve high gain only for headphones that require it.

The E17 won't take a charge after sitting unused for several months — how do I recover it?

A lithium-polymer cell that has self-discharged below roughly 2.5V will be rejected by the charger's protection circuit as a safety measure. Connect the E17 via USB and leave it for 15–20 minutes without attempting to power it on — some charger circuits will trickle-feed a deeply discharged cell back above the acceptance threshold before switching to normal charge current. If the charging indicator still does not activate after 30 minutes, check the USB cable and port with a known-working device to rule out a supply fault before assuming the cell is unrecoverable.
