Fits Fuhu Nabi DreamTab HD8 tablets using original part numbers SP5067112 or MLP4566111.
This 3.7V, 4350mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full capacity to tablets losing charge or shutting down unexpectedly.
Connector slides into the battery cavity with a single locking tab — no adhesive removal required.
We bench-tested the pack on a DreamTab HD8 motherboard; the BMS accepted charge without negotiation delay.
After installation, discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the new cell and resolves inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fuhu Nabi DreamTab HD8 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SP5067112)

This 3.7V, 4350mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Fuhu Nabi DreamTab HD8 and DMTAB-IN08A tablet. It matches OEM part numbers SP5067112 and MLP4566111. Dimensions are 113.75 × 66.40 × 4.60mm — confirm your existing cell before ordering.

  • Nabi DreamTab HD8 and DMTAB-IN08A compatibility: Both models run the same charge IC and connector pinout on a shared 3.7V rail, so one cell covers both. The BMS handshake is identical across the two SKUs — no firmware difference affects charging behaviour.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DreamTab HD8 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault flags, and the charge IC reached termination voltage cleanly with no current spike at cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After fitting this battery, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff from a full charge — do not interrupt the discharge. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This single cycle forces the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that typically appear after a swap.

DreamTab HD8 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

The DreamTab HD8 runs an 8-inch display alongside WiFi and background app processes simultaneously. Under that combined load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track — the board reads a safe percentage but the actual terminal voltage has already crossed the low-voltage cutoff threshold. The BMS trips and shuts the device down before the screen reports zero. One full recalibration cycle — discharge to auto shutoff, then uninterrupted charge to 100% — resyncs the fuel gauge and pushes the premature cutoff point back to below 5%.

DreamTab HD8 showing wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC stored calibration data from the original cell — capacity, internal resistance curve, and discharge slope. A new cell has different characteristics, so the existing calibration reads incorrectly from the first boot. You will typically see the percentage jump or drop suddenly, or read 100% while the tablet shuts off within minutes. Force a recalibration: discharge fully to automatic shutoff, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100% at 5V via the standard charge port.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Nabi DreamTab HD8 now shows 100% charge but dies suddenly — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage it reports is unreliable until recalibrated. Discharge the tablet completely to automatic shutoff, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. That single cycle resets the calibration and the percentage will track accurately from that point forward.

The DreamTab HD8 cuts off at around 20% after fitting this battery — what's causing that?

The 8-inch display plus active WiFi draws enough current to pull terminal voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge registers zero. The board shuts down to protect the cell even though the screen still shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this resyncs the fuel gauge slope to the new cell and shifts the premature cutoff point back toward 3%.

The DreamTab HD8 feels warm during the first charge after fitting this battery — is something wrong?

Warmth during the first charge on a new cell is normal. The charge IC ramps current into a cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile than the original, and the power dissipated during that initial cycle produces noticeable heat at the back of the tablet. If the device stays warm only during active charging and cools once unplugged, no action is needed. If it stays hot while idle on charge, disconnect and check that the charge port contacts are fully seated at 5V.
