Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujitsu iPAD 100 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DT-5023BAT)
This 3.7V, 3600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Fujitsu iPAD 100 barcode scanner series. It fits the iPAD 100, iPAD 100-10, iPAD 100-10RF, and iPAD 100-14, among other variants in the same family. OEM part numbers DT-5023BAT, DT-5024LBAT, and CA50601-1000 all cross to this pack.
- iPAD 100 series fit: All listed iPAD 100 variants share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. Swapping between sub-models in this family does not require a different pack — the BMS reads the same identification data across all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless radio loads. The BMS held the correct charge termination voltage and did not trip on combined inrush from the imager and the radio transmitting simultaneously.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum charge, and a fully charged cell prevents false BMS cutoffs during that first heavy-use period.
Cradle showing charging error on a new pack
The iPAD 100 cradle reads pack state through the dock contacts before initiating a charge cycle. If those contacts have oxidation or debris, the dock can report a fault even with a brand-new cell installed. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle base with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. The charge LED should switch from fault to active within a few seconds of clean contact.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the imager trigger and the wireless radio fire simultaneously, creating a combined inrush current spike that a degraded or partially discharged cell cannot sustain. The BMS responds by briefly pulling back output, and the radio drops its connection. This is not a wireless or firmware issue — it is a power delivery problem. Charge the pack fully before a high-volume shift and confirm the cell voltage reads 4.1–4.2V at the start of the day.

Frequently Asked Questions
The scanner stops reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — laser comes on but won't scan
The imager in the iPAD 100 needs a minimum sustained voltage to fire the decode engine — if the new pack ships partially discharged, the cell voltage can drop just enough under trigger load to cause decode failures even though the scanner powers on normally. This is not a fault with the battery or the scanner. Place the unit in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before attempting any scanning. Once the pack reaches full charge, the imager will have the voltage headroom it needs to complete a decode on every trigger pull.
My shift ended early — this battery doesn't last as long as the original did on day one
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling together account for far more current draw than most users expect from a handheld scanner. If the iPAD 100 is set to aggressive wireless polling intervals — common in warehouse WMS configurations — the radio alone can double the effective current drain per hour. Check the wireless polling rate in the scanner's configuration utility and drop it to the lowest interval your system tolerates. A new cell also benefits from two or three full charge-and-use cycles before it reaches its rated 3600mAh capacity.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a long shift and then powers off unexpectedly
The iPAD 100 housing encloses the battery, imager, and radio in a compact shell with limited airflow. Sustained scanning combined with continuous wireless activity generates heat that the BMS monitors — once internal temperature crosses the protection threshold, the BMS cuts output to prevent cell damage. This is normal protection behaviour, not a defective pack. Let the scanner cool for five minutes, then reseat it in the cradle; it will resume charging once the BMS confirms the cell temperature has returned below the cutoff point, typically around 45°C.
