Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Unitech HT660 / PA600 / PA950 Series — 3.7V Li-ion 3600mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V 3600mAh Li-ion battery for the Unitech HT660, PA600, PA950, and PA966 handheld barcode scanners. These terminals are used in warehouse, retail, and logistics environments where the scanner runs through full shifts of continuous barcode reads and wireless data transmission. This pack replaces cells that have degraded to the point where they can no longer sustain a working shift.
- HT660 / PA600 / PA950 / PA966 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V cell format and battery contact layout. The BMS on each device expects the same charge termination voltage and protection thresholds, so one pack covers the whole group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the HT660 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and protection circuitry responded correctly to overvoltage and undervoltage cutoff points.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack use: Place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first burst of rapid scanning.
Cradle showing charging error on a new pack
Charging docks on the HT660 and PA series use contact pins that corrode or collect debris from warehouse environments. When a new pack seats into a dirty dock, contact resistance rises and the charger interprets the voltage drop as a fault condition. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth before reseating. If the error clears after reseating, the dock contacts — not the battery — were the cause.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
On the HT660 and PA600, the wireless radio and scan trigger draw current simultaneously during a burst scan sequence. A degraded or deeply discharged cell cannot sustain the combined inrush, and the voltage rail sags enough to drop the wireless link. This looks like a network or Wi-Fi issue but the trigger is the battery. Charge the pack to full — 4.2V at the cell — before the shift and the voltage sag during burst scanning stays within the radio module's operating range.

Frequently Asked Questions
The HT660 stopped reading barcodes right after I put the new battery in — is the scanner broken?
The laser or imager module on the HT660 needs the cell above a minimum voltage threshold before it fires reliably. A new pack ships in a partial state of charge, and if the cell is low enough, the scanner won't read even though it powers on. Put it in the cradle for a full charge cycle first. Once the cell reaches 4.2V, the imager will fire at full power and reads should return to normal.
The scanner runs out of charge well before the end of a shift — same as the old battery that failed.
On the HT660 and PA series, shift endurance depends on scan burst frequency and how aggressively the wireless radio is polling the network. High scan rates combined with constant wireless activity draw significantly more current than light use. If the previous battery failed from repeated deep discharges, the dock contacts may also have degraded and be delivering a partial charge each cycle. Check that the battery seats fully in the cradle and the charge indicator reaches 100% before pulling the device for use.
The HT660 feels noticeably warm after a long shift — is that a battery fault?
Sustained heat on the HT660 during extended shifts comes from the combination of continuous scanning and wireless transmission inside the scanner's enclosed housing — both loads run through the same cell simultaneously. This is normal behaviour under high-demand conditions and does not indicate a battery fault on its own. If the device gets hot enough to trigger a thermal shutdown mid-shift, reduce scan burst frequency or check whether the wireless polling interval is set aggressively short in the device configuration. A healthy cell at 3.7V nominal should not overheat under typical warehouse scan duty cycles.
