Fits Garmin DC50 dog tracking collar; replaces OEM part numbers 361-00029-02, 010-10806-30, and 010-11828-03.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 3400mAh delivers the charge capacity this collar's GPS and transmission circuits demand.
Connector slides into the DC50 battery slot with positive contact on the left; locking tab seats firmly flush.
We ran a full charge cycle on the bench; BMS accepted input and held voltage stable through discharge at collar load draw.
After install, take the dog outside for 5–10 minutes before relying on location — GPS cold start after battery swap takes longer than subsequent updates.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin DC50 / Alpha / TT10 Dog Tracking Collar — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (361-00029-02)

This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Garmin DC50 dog tracking collar and compatible devices including the Alpha handheld and TT10 collar unit. It fits the OEM part numbers 361-00029-02, 010-10806-30, and 010-11828-03. The battery powers GPS acquisition, position transmission, and collar radio communication during active tracking sessions in the field.

  • DC50, TT10, and Alpha collar compatibility: These collar and handheld units share the same 3.7V battery platform and connector spec. The BMS handshake is consistent across the DC50 and TT10 collar hardware, so the same cell works across the family without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and GPS-active discharge cycles on DC50 hardware. The BMS held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold and accepted a full charge cycle without error flags from the Garmin firmware.
  • First GPS acquisition after install: After fitting this battery, take the dog outside before powering off. The collar performs a cold start after any power interruption — first GPS fix can take 5–10 minutes outdoors. Subsequent warm-start updates are significantly faster once the almanac data is cached.

DC50 collar battery draining faster in remote hunting areas

In areas with weak GPS signal or no cellular coverage, the DC50 collar increases its acquisition polling rate to maintain a position lock. This draws significantly more current than normal periodic-reporting mode. The collar's radio transmitter also boosts output power when the paired Alpha handheld is at range limits. If you're hunting in dense canopy or hilly terrain, expect noticeably shorter tracking sessions compared to open-ground use.

Collar not showing up in the Alpha after a battery swap

After a full power interruption, the TT10 or DC50 collar loses its active pairing session with the Alpha handheld. The collar doesn't automatically re-register — it waits for a new sync request. Power both units on, navigate to the Dog List on the Alpha, and re-add the collar using its ID. The pairing process takes under a minute and restores full tracking and bark/contact functions.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DC50 collar shows no GPS position on the Alpha for several minutes after I put in the new battery — is it broken?

It isn't broken — this is a cold start. After any power interruption, the collar has lost its cached satellite almanac data and has to rebuild it from scratch. Take the dog outside, power the collar on, and wait up to 10 minutes for the first fix. Every subsequent power cycle where the battery isn't fully removed will be a warm start, which locks on in under a minute.

My DC50 collar burns through a full charge much faster when we're hunting thick bush compared to open fields — what's causing that?

In dense cover, the collar works harder on two fronts: GPS acquisition polling increases as tree canopy interrupts satellite lock, and the UHF radio transmitter boosts output power to maintain the link to the Alpha handheld at distance. Both happen simultaneously and can more than double the current draw compared to open-field tracking. Charge the collar the night before a bush hunt and check it at the halfway point of the day.

After a battery swap, the collar appears in the Alpha's Dog List but the contact and bark alerts aren't triggering — how do I fix this?

A power interruption clears the active session state, so the collar re-registers its position link before restoring accessory functions like bark and contact alerts. On the Alpha, go into the collar's settings within the Dog List and re-enable each alert function manually — they default to off after a cold re-pair. Trigger a test contact correction from the Alpha to confirm the command channel is live before heading out.
