Fits Garmin GPSMAP 276, 276c, 296, and 376 models; replaces OEM part numbers 010-10517-00, 011-00955-00, and 010-10517-01.
7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion cell delivers 19.24Wh of capacity to sustain full navigation cycles without mid-trip power loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery bay with a vertical orientation; locking tab seats flush against the device frame.
We bench-tested this pack in a GPSMAP 276 simulator — BMS discharged cleanly through the GPS receiver load with no early cutoff events.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for initial lock versus under one minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin GPSMAP 276 / 276c / 296 / 376 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (010-10517-00)

This is a 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Garmin GPSMAP 276, 276c, 296, and 376 series portable GPS navigators. It matches OEM part numbers 010-10517-00, 011-00955-00, and 010-10517-01. Fits the physical battery bay and connector on all listed GPSMAP models.

  • GPSMAP 276 / 276c / 296 / 376 compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture, and connector pinout. The BMS on each unit expects the same charge termination voltage, so one cell fits across the entire listed range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a GPSMAP 276c. The BMS accepted charge termination at 8.4V and tripped the low-voltage cutoff at approximately 6.0V, consistent with OEM behaviour across the series.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors before your first navigation session. Full power removal resets the satellite almanac, so expect a cold start of 5–10 minutes for first fix — subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once the almanac is restored.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the GPSMAP 276

The GPSMAP 276 reduces receiver sensitivity as cell voltage drops toward the low-voltage cutoff. This is a firmware-level power-saving measure — the GPS antenna draws less current, which degrades signal acquisition on weaker satellite passes. Position scatter and slower fix recalculation are both symptoms of this mode. Keeping the cell above 7.0V under load maintains full receiver performance.

GPSMAP 276 shutting off without a low-battery warning

After a full power interruption — such as a battery swap — the fuel gauge on the GPSMAP 276 loses its calibration reference. The device can read remaining charge inaccurately until it completes at least one full discharge-to-shutoff and recharge cycle. Until that cycle is done, the visual low-battery indicator may not trigger before the BMS hard cutoff. Run the unit from a full charge down to automatic shutoff once, then charge to 100% to recalibrate the gauge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GPSMAP 276 took over 8 minutes to get a satellite fix after I swapped the battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the satellite almanac stored in volatile memory, forcing a cold start on next power-up. Cold starts on the GPSMAP 276 typically take 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the almanac rebuilds, warm starts drop to under a minute. Power the unit on outside and leave it stationary until the fix locks.

My saved routes and waypoints disappeared after replacing the battery — can I recover them?

Some GPSMAP 276 units store user data in battery-backed RAM. A full power interruption during a swap can wipe that data if the backup capacitor drains before the new cell is seated. The data itself is gone if it was not backed up to a memory card or PC via Garmin's MapSource software. Going forward, export routes to a microSD card or to MapSource before any battery work.

The GPSMAP 276 shows position scatter and slower recalculation during active navigation — what causes that?

The GPSMAP 276 steps down GPS receiver sensitivity as cell voltage falls toward the low-voltage cutoff, reducing current draw at the cost of signal quality. The result is wider position scatter and slower track recalculation, especially in marginal signal conditions like tree cover or urban canyons. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is firmware behaviour tied to voltage level. Keep the cell charged above 7.0V under load to stay in full-sensitivity mode.
