Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GEZE Slimline, ECdrive & Powerdrive Sliding Door Operators — 24V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (51526)
This is a 24V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for GEZE automatic door operators, including the Slimline, ECdrive, and Powerdrive sliding door systems. It powers the door controller's backup circuit, allowing the door to complete full open and close cycles when mains power drops. OEM part number 51526 — also cross-references 106863, T01013, and DCU1.
- Slimline, ECdrive & Powerdrive compatibility: These door operators share the same 24V backup battery rail, connector format, and BMS handshake. Swapping between units in the same product family does not require any controller reconfiguration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through mains-fail simulations on the ECdrive controller. The BMS held charge delivery stable through repeated full door cycles and returned a clean handshake on reconnection.
- Post-installation power-fail test: After fitting, manually trigger a mains-fail simulation during a low-traffic period. Backup batteries in automatic door systems must complete at least one full open-and-close cycle under real load to confirm the installation is valid.
Door controller losing programming after a power outage
GEZE door controllers store operational parameters — travel limits, hold-open timing, obstacle detection thresholds — in volatile RAM. That RAM is sustained by the backup battery when mains power fails. If the battery has degraded below approximately 20V under load, it cannot hold the RAM supply rail, and the controller resets to factory defaults on every outage. Replacing the battery and allowing a full 24-hour charge before the next outage prevents this. After fitting, confirm the controller retains its settings through a manual power-cycle test.
Automatic door not completing a full open or close cycle on backup power
A partial cycle on backup — door stalling mid-travel or reversing before reaching the end stop — usually means the battery cannot sustain the current draw of the door motor through the full stroke. This is a capacity failure, not a controller fault. The Ni-MH cells in this application degrade faster if the battery sits in a partially discharged state for extended periods. Fit the new battery, charge it fully for 24 hours, then run a timed mains-fail test to confirm the door completes both directions of travel.

Frequently Asked Questions
The door stops halfway through opening when the power goes out — is that a controller fault or the battery?
That mid-stroke stall is almost always the battery, not the controller. When Ni-MH cells age, their capacity drops and they can't sustain motor current through a full door cycle. The controller interprets the voltage sag as an obstacle or fault and halts the door. Fit the replacement battery, charge it for a full 24 hours, then run a mains-fail test — the door should complete the full open and close stroke without stopping.
Every time there's a power cut, the door controller resets and loses all its settings — why?
GEZE door controllers hold travel limits, hold-open timing, and obstacle sensitivity in volatile RAM, which is sustained by the backup battery during an outage. When the battery drops below the minimum voltage needed to hold the RAM supply rail, those settings wipe on every power cut. This is a battery failure, not a controller fault. Replace the battery, allow 24 hours of charge, and confirm settings survive a manual power-cycle before the next real outage.
The door moves noticeably slower when running on backup power — is something wrong with the new battery?
Slower door movement on backup is normal controller behaviour, not a battery defect. GEZE door operators reduce motor speed when running on the backup battery to lower current draw and extend the number of cycles available before the battery depletes. If the door is completing full open and close cycles at reduced speed, the battery and controller are functioning correctly. If the door stalls or reverses before reaching the end stop, check that the battery has had a full 24-hour charge after fitting.
