This is a 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Globus Genesy 3000 electrotherapy platform. It fits the Genesy 3000, Laser Pro Version, LaserVet Pro Version, and StimVet 4000. All four units share the same battery bay, connector, and BMS communication profile.

  • Genesy 3000 platform compatibility: The Genesy 3000, Laser Pro, LaserVet Pro, and StimVet 4000 share a common 12V Ni-MH battery rail with the same physical connector and BMS handshake. One battery fits all four without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on the Genesy 3000 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell, completed its verification sequence, and reported accurate state-of-charge across all test cycles.
  • Post-swap startup protocol: After fitting the new battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The Genesy 3000 BMS runs a cell verification check at boot — cutting power mid-sequence stores a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Why the Genesy 3000 alarms low battery on a confirmed full charge

The Genesy 3000 BMS sets its low-battery threshold against the OEM cell's charge curve. A fresh Ni-MH cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile than a broken-in one, so the BMS reads voltage conservatively on the first two or three cycles. The alarm clears once the cell completes one full charge-discharge cycle and the BMS recalibrates its threshold. Run one complete cycle before clinical use — charge to full, run the unit through a normal session, then charge again.

Device will not power on after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge over time. If the battery has been stored for several months, its resting voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 10.5V on a 12V Ni-MH pack — and the device will not boot. Connect the charger and leave it for a full uninterrupted charge cycle before attempting to power on. If the charge indicator does not respond after 30 minutes on the charger, disconnect, wait two minutes, then reconnect to allow the charge IC to attempt a low-current recovery pulse.

Not faulty. The Genesy 3000 BMS calibrates its low-battery threshold against the OEM cell's charge curve, and a brand-new Ni-MH cell reads slightly differently until it breaks in. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — charge fully, use the device through a normal session, then charge again. After that cycle the BMS recalibrates and the warning clears.

The device shuts off mid-treatment after fitting the new battery — what is causing this?

Medical electrotherapy devices apply a variable load profile during stimulation programs, and new Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in the first ten cycles. This causes momentary voltage sag under load that triggers the BMS protection cutoff. The shutdowns become less frequent with each cycle as the cell's internal resistance drops. Complete five full charge-discharge cycles before using the device in a clinical setting.

The charge indicator on the Genesy 3000 is not reaching 100% on the first charge — should I keep charging?

This is normal on the first charge. The charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it sees a new cell, which means the charge cycle runs longer and the indicator may plateau below 100% before the IC completes its top-up phase. Leave the device on charge until the indicator stops advancing on its own — do not disconnect early. After the first full cycle the indicator will reach 100% consistently.
