Fits GlocalMe U3 and GLMU19A02W hotspot models, replacing the original 3.8V Li-Polymer cell.
This 3.8V, 2800mAh pack restores full capacity to the U3 after original battery degradation reduces runtime and connection stability.
Connector seats flush into the U3 battery slot with a single positive-negative contact strip; polarity marked on the device housing.
We tested the BMS on the GlocalMe charger — cell accepted full charge cycle without fault codes, voltage held steady under combined WiFi and modem draw.
Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions; the cellular radio operates at maximum power when devices are distant, generating heat that stresses the battery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GlocalMe U3 / GLMU19A02W — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.8V, 2800mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the GlocalMe U3 and GLMU19A02W portable WiFi hotspot. The original battery degrades with charge cycles, reducing the hotspot's ability to sustain combined modem and WiFi load. Swapping it restores full capacity to the power system.

  • U3 and GLMU19A02W compatibility: Both models share the same 3.8V power rail, physical cell dimensions (100.50 × 61.40 × 6.30mm), and connector layout — the same replacement cell fits either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and WiFi draw to verify the BMS holds voltage within spec. The protection circuit held stable across the load cycle with no cutoff events.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the U3 in an open, ventilated spot when running for long periods. When connected devices are far away, the cellular radio increases output power — sustained heat at the cell shortens its cycle life faster than anything else on this device.

Why the U3 drops connected devices mid-session under full load

The U3 runs two power-hungry systems simultaneously — the cellular modem and the WiFi radio. When multiple devices are connected and the hotspot is working hard, combined current draw spikes. If the battery cell has aged below a functional capacity threshold, its internal resistance rises and voltage sags under that peak draw. The BMS reads the sag as a low-voltage event and trips the cutoff to protect the cell, dropping all connected devices instantly.

U3 won't power on after sitting unused for weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage — the U3 draws a small standby current even when off, accelerating that drain. If the cell voltage falls below approximately 3.0V, the BMS locks out the power circuit and the device won't respond to the power button. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for at least 30–60 minutes before attempting to power on — this gives the BMS enough charge to re-enable the output circuit and allow a normal boot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GlocalMe U3 keeps dropping everyone off WiFi for a few seconds, then reconnects — why does this keep happening?

This is a voltage sag cutoff. When multiple devices are connected and the cellular signal is weak, the modem cranks up output power — combined draw from the modem and WiFi radio spikes beyond what a degraded battery cell can sustain without its internal resistance causing a voltage drop. The BMS reads that drop as a fault and briefly trips the output. A fresh 2800mAh cell restores the voltage headroom that prevents those sag events.

The U3 battery drains much faster when I'm in an area with a weak cellular signal — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong — this is normal modem behaviour. In poor signal areas, the cellular radio runs at maximum output power trying to maintain the connection, drawing significantly more current than it would on a strong signal. Add multiple connected devices on top of that and you're pulling near-peak load continuously. There's no fix for the power draw itself; the only lever you have is keeping the hotspot physically closer to a window or elevated position to improve signal strength.

The U3 won't turn on at all after I left it in a bag for about a month — is the battery dead?

Probably not dead, but deeply discharged. Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage, and the U3 draws a trickle even when switched off. If cell voltage has fallen below roughly 3.0V, the BMS blocks the output circuit entirely and the device won't respond to the power button. Plug it into a charger and leave it untouched for 45–60 minutes — once the cell climbs back above the BMS threshold, the hotspot will power on normally.
