Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Google Pixel 4a 5G — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (G025E-B)
This is a 3.87V, 3800mAh (14.71Wh) lithium-polymer battery that replaces the G025E-B cell inside the Google Pixel 4a 5G. It fits models G025E, G025H, G6QU3, and GD1YQ — all regional variants of the same handset sharing identical battery dimensions and connector. Drop it in when the original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day.
- G025E, G025H, G6QU3, GD1YQ compatibility: These are regional SKUs for the same Pixel 4a 5G hardware. Google uses the same 103 × 45 × 4.5mm cell across all variants with a shared BMS connector and voltage rail — one part number covers all four.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge runs on the Pixel 4a 5G. The BMS accepted the cell without a charge-reject flag, and the coulomb counter tracked capacity from 100% down without dropping the charge-complete signal early.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes high-current fast charging into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Pixel 4a 5G after a cell swap
The Pixel 4a 5G runs a Snapdragon X52 modem alongside a 90Hz display — both pull hard current spikes simultaneously. If the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated to the new cell's discharge curve, it misreads the remaining capacity. When the modem and display spike together, the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the gauge still shows 25–30%. The fix is one full, uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle with the screen and mobile data active — let the coulomb counter log the actual curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at false-low percentages stop.
USB-PD fast charge not activating after replacement
On the first charge after installation, some units show standard 5V/0.9A charging rather than the expected 18W USB-PD rate. The charge IC performs a handshake check against the new cell's BMS on first contact — if internal resistance reads outside the expected window for a fully depleted cell, it holds at base voltage as a precaution. Charge the phone to 100% at standard rate first, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. The charge IC re-initiates the USB-PD negotiation against a full cell and fast charging resumes. If it still doesn't engage, confirm the charger outputs at least 9V/2A.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Pixel 4a 5G keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the remaining charge under modem and screen load. When both spike simultaneously, the cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff even though the gauge shows 25%. Run one full, uninterrupted discharge to 0% and charge back to 100% without interrupting — the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and the early shutoffs stop.
The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what happened?
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS trips into lockout mode to prevent damage and the phone won't respond to the power button or charger. Connect the original Google charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes without touching it — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 2.8V, at which point the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.
My Pixel 4a 5G feels warm near the back panel during the first few charges after the swap — is something wrong?
This is normal on the first one or two cycles. A new high-impedance cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC converts more energy to heat as it pushes current in. The warmth drops noticeably after the cell completes two or three full cycles and impedance settles. If the phone feels hot rather than warm, or if warmth continues past the third cycle, check that the replacement cell connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and compounds the heating.
