Fits Gotive H42 GPS navigator, replaces OEM part H42ACC0115.
3.7V and 4300mAh capacity restores full navigation runtime on this portable GPS unit.
Li-ion cell uses a standard connector with no locking tab — seats flush into the H42 battery slot.
We bench-tested this cell in a H42 test harness; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first lock versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gotive H42 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (H42ACC0115)

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 4300mAh (15.91Wh), built to replace the original battery in the Gotive H42 GPS navigator. It fits the H42 directly using OEM part number H42ACC0115. Swap the cell when the original no longer holds a charge through a full navigation session.

  • H42 navigator fit: The H42 runs a single-cell Li-ion architecture at 3.7V nominal. This replacement matches that voltage rail and the BMS communication protocol the H42 uses to read state-of-charge — no firmware mismatch, no false low-battery alerts from day one.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GPS navigation load profile. The BMS triggered charge termination correctly at 4.2V and held the low-voltage cutoff at the expected threshold without premature shutdown.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After any full power removal, the H42 loses its ephemeris data and must perform a cold start. Take the unit outdoors with a clear sky view and power it on before driving. First satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Every subsequent start from that point runs in under a minute.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the H42

When cell voltage drops toward 3.5V, some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity to lower power draw and extend the remaining charge. On the H42, this can show as position drift or a weaker satellite signal bar count — even though the unit is still running. The fix is straightforward: keep the battery above its mid-charge state during active navigation. If accuracy degrades mid-route, connect USB power and watch the satellite count recover within a minute or two.

H42 shuts off without warning before the low-battery icon appears

After fitting a new cell, the H42's fuel gauge is uncalibrated to that specific cell's discharge curve. The unit may hit its internal voltage cutoff threshold before the on-screen battery indicator visually reaches empty. Run two full charge-to-cutoff cycles after the swap — discharge the unit through normal navigation use rather than leaving it in standby. By the second cycle, the gauge reading and actual cutoff align to within a few percent, and the visual warning appears before the unit drops off.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gotive H42 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The H42 stores saved routes and points of interest in battery-backed RAM. When you remove the original cell completely, that memory loses power and clears. Some units also write route data to internal flash, which survives the swap — check Settings > My Routes immediately after powering back on. If the routes are gone, you'll need to re-enter them or restore from a connected PC if you had a backup saved.

The H42 is taking 8 minutes to find satellites after the battery swap — something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong. A full battery removal clears the GPS receiver's stored ephemeris data — the satellite position tables it uses to lock quickly. Without that data, the H42 must perform a cold start, which takes 5–10 minutes with a clear sky view. Stand outside away from buildings, leave the unit stationary, and let it complete the fix. Every start after that first cold acquisition will lock in under a minute.

Active navigation drains the H42 battery much faster than when the unit is just sitting idle — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is working correctly. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full polling rate plus keeps the display lit — both at the same time. Standby or menu use drops the receiver to a low-power state and may dim or turn off the screen. The difference in draw between those two modes is significant on any GPS navigator. If drain still seems excessive during navigation, lower screen brightness in Display Settings — that alone reduces the combined load noticeably.
