Fits Airboard 4000 GPS navigator; replaces OEM battery CS-MG450SL.
3.7V 1400mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 5.18Wh for extended outdoor navigation without recharging.
Connector inserts vertically into battery slot with single locking tab on left side.
We tested the BMS on first insertion; voltage stabilized at 3.68V within two cycles with no fault codes.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes five to ten minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Airboard 4000 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1400mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Airboard 4000 GPS navigator. It restores power to the handheld unit used for outdoor navigation and location tracking. Capacity is 1400mAh (5.18Wh) — matching the original specification.

  • Airboard 4000 fitment: The 4000 uses a slim Li-Polymer cell with tight dimensional tolerances inside its sealed housing. This cell measures 66.25 x 50.85 x 3.96mm — matching the bay exactly so the back cover seats flush and the connector aligns with the board.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GPS platform and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the device. The unit powered on cleanly, held charge through active navigation, and showed no false low-battery alerts during testing.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors before your first trip. The unit performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the Airboard 4000

As cell voltage falls toward the lower threshold, the Airboard 4000 reduces receiver sensitivity to conserve power. This shows up as wider position scatter or brief signal loss — not a GPS signal problem, but a power management response. A degraded original battery spends more time in this low-voltage range, making the problem chronic. A fresh cell at full charge keeps the receiver running at full sensitivity throughout your session.

Airboard 4000 shutting off without a low-battery warning

The on-screen battery indicator on the 4000 is calibrated against the charge curve of a new cell. A degraded battery drops voltage sharply under load, hitting the hardware cutoff before the indicator reaches the warning threshold. The device powers off mid-navigation with no visible warning. Fit this replacement cell and the indicator re-aligns with actual remaining capacity — the warning reappears at the correct point above 3.4V before cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Airboard 4000 saved routes and waypoints disappeared after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Airboard 4000 holds some route and POI data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears it. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it happens any time the board loses power completely. Before removing the old battery, export your routes to the internal storage or a connected device if the unit supports it, then restore after fitting the new cell.

The Airboard 4000 took over 10 minutes to find satellites after I installed the new battery — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. After full power removal, the GPS chip loses its stored almanac and ephemeris data and must perform a cold start — redownloading satellite position data from scratch. That process takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Stay stationary in an open area for the first fix. Once the almanac is cached, subsequent locks return to under a minute.

My Airboard 4000 battery drains much faster when I'm actively navigating than when it's sitting on standby — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and display simultaneously, which draws significantly more current than standby. At full screen brightness with continuous position updates, the draw can be two to three times higher than idle. Reduce display brightness during navigation to extend your session. The 1400mAh capacity of this cell matches the original specification — if drain still seems excessive, check that the backlight timeout is set rather than always-on.
