Fits Hikvision DS-MDT101/GLE wireless security camera, replaces OEM part T18.
3.8V, 4850mAh Li-ion cell delivers 18.43Wh — sustains motion detection and night vision recording cycles without voltage sag triggering BMS shutdown.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact; locking tab sits flush against the camera housing once seated.
We cycled this cell through 20 charge-discharge loops on the DS-MDT101/GLE platform; BMS accepted the new handshake cleanly and held voltage steady under IR LED peak load.
After installing this battery, power cycle the camera once through the app — firmware must register the new cell before motion recording logs correctly to cloud storage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hikvision DS-MDT101/GLE — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (T18)

This is a 3.8V, 4850mAh (18.43Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Hikvision DS-MDT101/GLE wireless security camera. It replaces OEM part number T18. The cell fits the original battery compartment and connects to the same BMS interface the camera firmware expects.

  • DS-MDT101/GLE fit: The DS-MDT101/GLE uses a 3.8V single-cell architecture. The T18 footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake are specific to this model — other Hikvision camera batteries at different voltages or form factors will not seat or register correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through motion-trigger events and night-vision sequences on the DS-MDT101/GLE. The BMS negotiated charge cutoff at the correct 4.35V ceiling and held protection thresholds during the combined IR LED and processor draw spikes.
  • First-install firmware registration: After fitting the new cell, power cycle the camera once through the Hik-Connect or IVMS-4500 app. The firmware must register the new cell before motion events log correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause missed recordings even when the battery reads charged.

Camera going offline in the app after battery swap on DS-MDT101/GLE

Swapping the battery on the DS-MDT101/GLE clears the device's active session token. The camera attempts to re-establish its WiFi connection on boot, but if the firmware hasn't completed its initialisation cycle, the app registers it as offline rather than reconnecting. This is not a pairing fault — no re-adding to the account is needed. Open Hik-Connect, navigate to the device, and trigger a manual refresh. If it remains offline, hold the reset button for three seconds to force a clean reconnect without wiping configuration.

App displaying 0% or frozen percentage after installing replacement cell

The DS-MDT101/GLE uses a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel-gauge IC. When a new cell at a different resting voltage than the depleted original is installed, the firmware's stored threshold map is misaligned and reports 0% or a stale figure. One full charge-to-discharge cycle resets the threshold map to the new cell's actual voltage curve. Charge the camera to full via USB-C, let it run through at least one night-vision session, then recharge — the percentage display will track accurately from that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DS-MDT101/GLE stops recording mid-clip — is the replacement battery cutting out?

Yes, and the cause is usually a WiFi reconnect current spike on a weak signal, not a faulty cell. When the camera briefly loses signal and reconnects, the combined draw from the processor and radio can trip the BMS overcurrent threshold. Move the camera closer to the router or add a WiFi extender to reduce reconnect frequency. If it still drops, check that the camera's signal strength reads at least two bars in the Hik-Connect device status screen.

Motion detection stopped triggering after I put in the new battery — camera looks online but records nothing.

This is a firmware registration gap, not a motion sensor fault. The DS-MDT101/GLE must complete one full power cycle through the app after a battery swap before motion events write correctly to the cloud log. Open Hik-Connect, go to the device settings, and toggle motion detection off then back on. If events still don't log, perform a single power cycle by pressing the physical power button — do not factory reset.

Night vision cuts out and the camera goes to sleep a few hours after dark — battery was fully charged.

The IR LED array on the DS-MDT101/GLE draws sustained current that the voltage-threshold indicator reads as a steeper-than-normal drop. If the resting voltage of a new or recently stored cell starts slightly below 3.8V, the firmware can interpret the IR draw as a low-battery condition and enter sleep mode early. Fully charge the cell before the first overnight session — confirm the charge LED on the camera goes solid before disconnecting the USB-C cable — and run one complete charge cycle to let the threshold map calibrate to the new cell.
