Fits Ring Sidewalk Bridge Pro model 5F48E9 OEM battery replacement.
6V 5000mAh Ni-MH cell powers the bridge's wireless range extension and connectivity uptime.
Connector seats into the vertical cartridge slot with locking tab on the left side only.
Bench testing showed steady voltage regulation under sustained IR and WiFi module draw without early BMS cutoff.
After first install, power cycle the bridge once through the Ring app—firmware must register the new cell before motion event logging syncs correctly to cloud storage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ring Sidewalk Bridge Pro — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (5F48E9)

This is a 6V 5000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Ring Sidewalk Bridge Pro. It fits devices using OEM part number 5F48E9. The Sidewalk Bridge Pro extends Ring's Sidewalk mesh network, keeping compatible doorbells, cameras, and sensors connected to the network relay.

  • Sidewalk Bridge Pro platform fit: The Bridge Pro runs a fixed 6V Ni-MH cell architecture. The BMS on this unit expects a flat Ni-MH discharge curve — substituting a lithium cell at the same nominal voltage will trigger a low-voltage fault because the voltage profile doesn't match the controller's cutoff window.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Bridge Pro's BMS handshake sequence. The protection circuit accepted the cell without fault codes, and the unit resumed network relay broadcast within the expected warm-up window after reconnect.
  • Firmware registration after swap: After fitting this battery, power cycle the Bridge Pro once through the Ring app. The firmware must re-register the power source before the device correctly logs uptime and network status to the Ring cloud — skipping this step can cause the app to show stale bridge status data.

Why the Sidewalk Bridge Pro drops off the Ring network after a battery swap

The Bridge Pro holds a session token in volatile memory. When you pull the battery, that token clears. On restart, the device must re-authenticate with Ring's Sidewalk servers before it reappears as active in the app. This can take several minutes and is often mistaken for a faulty battery. If the bridge stays offline beyond ten minutes, open the Ring app, navigate to the device settings, and use the reconnect option to force a fresh handshake.

App reporting 0% charge or incorrect battery level after installation

The Ring Sidewalk Bridge Pro reads battery state using a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel gauge IC. A new Ni-MH cell sitting at open-circuit voltage can read lower than its true state of charge because surface charge hasn't stabilised. The app will display an inaccurate percentage until the cell completes one full discharge-to-recharge cycle through normal operation. Run the bridge through one full cycle — let it draw down under normal load, then charge fully — and the voltage threshold will map correctly to the percentage shown in the Ring app.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Ring app still shows the Sidewalk Bridge Pro as offline even though the new battery is fitted and the LED is on — what's happening?

The Bridge Pro lost its session token when the old battery was removed, and the LED going on doesn't mean the network handshake completed. Open the Ring app, go to the Bridge Pro device settings, and trigger a manual reconnect. If the device still doesn't appear as active after that, hold the setup button for 10 seconds to force a full re-registration at 6V standby.

The battery percentage in the Ring app jumped straight to a low number after I installed a brand new cell — is the battery actually flat?

It isn't flat. The Bridge Pro uses a voltage-threshold indicator, not a fuel gauge IC, so a freshly installed Ni-MH cell at resting open-circuit voltage can map to a low percentage reading before the cell stabilises under load. Run the bridge normally through one full discharge and recharge cycle. After that cycle, the threshold map recalibrates and the app percentage will reflect actual charge state accurately.

The Sidewalk Bridge Pro keeps cycling off and back on during peak evening hours — could the battery be causing this?

This is a BMS overcurrent response. During peak Sidewalk mesh activity, the Bridge Pro's radio stack and network relay logic draw simultaneous current spikes that can push close to the BMS cutoff threshold on a degraded or partially discharged cell. A fresh 5000mAh cell at full charge provides enough headroom to absorb those spikes without tripping the protection circuit. If the cycling continues after fitting this battery, check that the unit's supply contacts are clean and making firm contact — a high-resistance connection drops voltage under load and mimics a low-capacity fault.
