Fits HOBOT Legee D7 and Legee D8 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM part 21700 4S1P-L.
14.4V 5000mAh lithium-ion delivers full motor torque on carpet and hard floors without voltage sag.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the pack.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the D7; the BMS held steady at 14.4V until final 10% cutoff.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock after reaching full charge — continuous trickle charging degrades capacity significantly faster than removing the pack when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HOBOT Legee D7 / Legee D8 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (21700 4S1P-L)

This is a 14.4V, 5000mAh (72Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the HOBOT Legee D7 and Legee D8 robotic vacuum cleaners. It replaces OEM part number 21700 4S1P-L. When the original pack degrades, the robot loses the sustained power it needs to complete a full cleaning cycle.

  • Legee D7 and D8 compatibility: Both models share the same 14.4V architecture, connector type, and BMS handshake protocol, so one pack covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the Legee D7 platform. The BMS responded correctly to the robot's charge termination signal and did not trip on motor-start current draw during navigation.
  • Dock charging habit on the Legee D7 and D8: Do not leave the robot parked on the charging dock continuously between uses. Constant trickle charging accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion packs. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next scheduled clean.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The Legee D7 regulates motor speed based on available voltage from the pack. As a Li-ion cell ages, its internal resistance rises — voltage sags under motor load even when the reported state of charge still reads moderate. The robot interprets this sag as sufficient charge but the motor cannot sustain full suction pressure. A replacement pack with lower internal resistance restores stable voltage under load and brings suction back to spec.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the Legee D7's filter is partially blocked, the motor works harder to maintain airflow and draws current above the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts power to protect the cells, then resets after a few seconds. Clean or replace the HEPA filter first — if the cutout stops, the battery was never the cause. If it continues with a clean filter, check that pack voltage at rest reads above 12.0V before assuming a cell fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HOBOT Legee D8 stops mid-clean, pauses, then starts again — is this a battery fault?

Usually not the battery itself. That stop-and-recover pattern is the BMS tripping on overcurrent, which happens when the motor strains against a blocked filter and pulls more current than the pack's protection circuit allows. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before replacing the battery. If the cutouts stop after cleaning, the original pack may still have usable life.

The replacement battery isn't charging on the dock — the robot just sits there with no indicator light activity.

Some HOBOT chargers expect a specific BMS handshake before initiating the charge cycle. If the dock shows no response at all, remove the robot, wait 30 seconds, and re-seat it firmly — poor dock contact is the most common cause. If the indicator still does not activate, check dock voltage at the contacts with a multimeter; it should read approximately 16–17V. A reading below that points to the dock, not the battery.

The Legee D7 used to finish the whole floor on one charge — now it quits halfway through even with a new battery.

A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which burns through charge faster regardless of battery condition. Check the filter, dust bin, and brush roll before assuming the new pack is at fault. Also confirm the new pack was charged to full before the first run — a Li-ion pack shipped in storage state will not deliver full capacity until it has completed at least one full charge cycle. After a complete charge, pack voltage should rest at approximately 16.2V.
