Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP 2133 Mini-Note — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (482262-001)
This is a 10.8V 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion battery for the HP 2133 Mini-Note netbook. It replaces OEM parts 482262-001, KU528AA, HSTNN-DB63, HSTNN-IB63, and HSTNN-IB64. It fits the standard battery bay on all 2133 Mini-Note variants including KX868AT, KR939UT, and KZ986PA/KZ987PA configurations.
- 2133 Mini-Note compatibility: All listed 2133 variants share the same battery bay geometry, 10.8V rail, and BMS handshake protocol — the same cell works across the full KX, KR, and KZ model codes without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 2133 Mini-Note unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state of charge through multiple cycles.
- Post-install calibration on the 2133 Mini-Note: After installing, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells in this model.
BIOS reporting poor battery health after fitting a new cell
The HP 2133 Mini-Note stores battery health data in EEPROM on the original cell. When a replacement cell goes in, the BIOS reads that stale data and flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the BIOS to rewrite the learn cycle against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the warning on the next boot.
Laptop shutting down unexpectedly at 20–30% charge shown
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell — it still maps state of charge using data from the old, degraded cell. Under combined CPU and display load, the actual cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS triggers a hard cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Complete two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate. After calibration, the shutdown point should track accurately down to the BMS low-voltage cutoff near 9.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The HP 2133 Mini-Note shows the battery Wh rating as wrong in system info after I fitted the replacement — is the cell faulty?
No — this is an EEPROM mismatch, not a cell fault. The old battery's EEPROM stored a rated Wh figure that doesn't match the replacement cell's chemistry data, and the OS reads the old value before the BIOS learn cycle overwrites it. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff followed by a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the system info Wh figure should update to reflect the replacement cell correctly.
My 2133 Mini-Note fuel gauge jumps around wildly for the first few charges — showing 80%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes.
The fuel gauge IC on the 2133 Mini-Note uses learned data from the previous cell to estimate state of charge. A new cell has different internal resistance and voltage curves, so the IC's predictions are inaccurate until it collects real data. Complete three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles without interrupting the charge. By the third cycle the IC will have enough data to track the new cell accurately and the jumping behaviour stops.
The replacement battery won't charge above 80% on the HP 2133 Mini-Note — it just stops there every time.
The 2133 Mini-Note BIOS includes a charge limit setting that can cap charging at 80% to reduce cell wear — this is a firmware-controlled threshold, not a battery fault. Check the HP Power Manager utility or BIOS power settings for a battery charge limit or "maximise battery lifespan" option and disable it. Once that setting is off, plug in and let the cell charge uninterrupted — it should reach full voltage and the gauge should read 100%.
