Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Business Notebook 6715b — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (360483-001)
This is a 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the HP Business Notebook 6715b and a wide range of compatible HP business notebook models from the same platform generation. It replaces over 80 OEM part numbers including HSTNN-IB05, HSTNN-DB05, PB994A, and 395791-001. The cell fits the standard 6-cell bay and connects directly to the notebook's existing charge circuitry.
- HP nx-series and 6700-series platform fit: The NX6110, NX6140, NX6325, and 6715b share the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across this generation — one cell serves all of them without firmware conflicts.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a 6715b unit under full CPU and display load. The BMS held stable voltage throughout the charge cycle and passed BIOS health interrogation without throwing an unknown-battery flag.
- Post-install calibration on the 6715b: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swap on the 6715b
The 6715b BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers written by the original factory cell during its first charge cycles. A new cell arrives with blank or mismatched EEPROM values, so the BIOS flags it as degraded before it has run a single cycle. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% rewrites the learn-cycle registers and clears the warning. After two to three full cycles the BIOS health indicator should stabilise at 100%.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the 6715b
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC carries over the old cell's discharge profile and triggers a low-voltage shutdown earlier than the real cutoff point. It is not a sign of a faulty cell. Force two or three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles — the fuel gauge re-maps the voltage curve each time and the premature shutdown stops occurring once the cell voltage at cutoff reads at or below 10.0V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
HP Setup Assistant says my new battery Wh rating is wrong — shows a lower number than the label. Is the cell defective?
The Wh figure the BIOS displays is pulled from the cell's EEPROM, not measured live. A replacement cell ships with a factory EEPROM value that may not match the rated 47.52Wh until the learn cycle completes. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After one complete cycle the BIOS recalculates and the displayed Wh figure corrects itself.
The 6715b charge light goes out at 80% and the battery stops charging — nothing gets it past that point.
Some HP BIOS versions on this platform include a charge-limit setting that caps cells at 80% to reduce heat during docked use. Check BIOS under Power Management for a "Battery Care Mode" or "Extended Life" option and disable it. If no such option exists, the fuel gauge IC may have locked the charge ceiling from a previous degraded cell — a full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge resets the IC threshold. Target a full charge confirmed at 12.6V across the pack terminals.
OS fuel gauge jumps wildly — shows 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes on the same charge.
The fuel gauge IC on the 6715b calibrates its coulomb counter against the discharge curve of the installed cell. After a swap it has no reference data, so readings are unstable for the first few cycles. This is expected behaviour — not a wiring or cell fault. Run three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles with uninterrupted charges between each one; by the third cycle the IC locks onto the new cell's curve and the gauge stabilises.
